sounds like an issue with the convertdataEXPANASION.exe being for a different version of the expansion and the folder that contains the folders to convert does not have the EXPANSION and version in it's name, I also get this issue upon updates to the game and I forget to copy the expansion AND version info and copy the current convertdata's to the folder for the gui and add the version number to the name of the convertdata's in the gui folder, a quick outline of HO

are you using the convertdata from the version of the game that the mod/files are from?, I have seen the convertdata's stuff(either fail to convert, or lock up) up when fed bin/txt files that have code that they do not understand. harpo

did you extract the rar contents to a folder in the computer?, did you then run the 'sinstextbinner2.exe' from the folder?, which windows version are you using (eg win 7, 'win HATE", window vista, xp)? assuming window vista or later, do you have the UAC turned on? if so how high is the 'annoy with notices level'? harpo

question, do you have a 'rar' archive manager installed? the rar files are similar to zip but more space efficient. there are several archive manager programs that can 'handle' rar archives eg winrar(trialware), 7zip(freeware) hope this helps harpo

mitpaladin, from what I remember the strikecraft speed is controlled inside the individual strikecraft entities and not in the squads, just as the ship speeds are controlled inside the frigate/capital/titan entities and if you add unrelated lines to an entity you might be lucky and have it load but complain, or you might be unlucky and get the minidump, but most likely it will refuse to load the entity then minidump due to the error (unhandled lines) in the entity. harpo
