Harpo, it was a joke. The Gear was being sarcastic. Hankers is correct.
what is this 'joke' thing? harpo is still pissed off at the forum software(due to poor user design of forced subscriptions and may the stardockers that made this change get buried in thier subscriptions), but now puzzled

I also find the FORCED to subscribe for each thread/reply to be VERY irritating, and it has only been a couple of weeks since I noticed the HORRIBLE behavior happening, also I checked my account option forsubscriptions (that I had originally turn OFF was back to ON). WTF is going on. I usually just use the replied to threads menu and have NOT EVER wanted OR used subscribed to threads. harpo the irritated

shigiddy, it sounds like you might be attempting to edit in a text editor a BIN file, this can be confirmed by the first THREE characters of the file being BIN. the fix is to convert the file(s) to txt mode either using the convertdata(expansion).exe or one of the convert gui utilities like my text bin gui which is also in <a title="sins utilities thread by harpo" href="https://f

I must admit that I also use the 'request a large value cheque so that I can open an account with them' method for all the very few 'finance' mobs that actually do get to talk to me. as far as phone calls go the levels of defence aginst them are 1 is that the landline is unlisted, 2 is on the do not call lists at each level of 'government' in the country, 3 has a phone/fax answering machine set up with the message "you have reached

just to keep this thread on track, the definition of 'politician' that I use comes from poly (many) and tick (blood sucking insect), unfortunately the tick is the most accurate part as they KEEP sucking the 'blood' of the country/region/area that they are 'supposed' to be 'guiding/working for', but there are SO MANY of the those insects(inteligence wise) that the entire definition appears to be totally correct harpo

I actually suggest to my customers(note the majority of my customers are seniors) that if they get such calls, (first make sure that their computers are NOT switched on), then that they should play 'dumb' and not know WHAT a computer is , and get the caller to describe what it should look like, and when the caller gets to the type of description of a 'screen' that the customer sits in front of and looks at, I suggest that the customer sa

and then there is the mess that is australian politics (2 MAIN 'parties' (labour - liberal/national country party) and several 'minor' parties (sorry can not even remember how MANY of them there are, but new ones seem to come out of the swamps every election, and with THREE levels of political MESS (local, State and national), and no one level even tolerates the other two, it is looking even less like anthing that could be considered to have ANY sign of intelligence)

you should try figuring out HOW to update mods you do not have between versions of the expansions (and even between expansions), then for the final act, try to figure out how to make a utility for creating translations of the game when you only speak ONE language. the results could end up with a VERY messy explosion from brain overload. harpo

volt, in my text-bin gui I just use standard ASCII text with full paths to each of the files supplied as a sttring to the command shell, and in some of my testing I have had over 10 copies of convertdata running at the same time, but was not able to verify that the files were converted except when I was limiting it to one file at a time and waiting for the convert to finish harpo

over the many years I have been in the PC building industry, I have developed a personal rule of thumb regarding video card performance from noting the MODEL numbers of the chips of the cards (which is usually clearly labeled on the card and box for the card, and the pattern noticed is as follows first digit relates to the generation of the card (nvidia 1 second and third digits relative po
