sounds like it is hitting the FULL use of thread on a quad core or dual core with hyperthreading, unfortunately, sins is effectively a singlethreaded game and it has already been thrashed to death about the possiblility of re-writing the game engine to multi-theading (result is that it will not happen before sins 2(if sins 2 happens)). harpo the NON-subscriber

sounds like you will need to use the galaxy FORGE (assuming you are rebelling the galaxy forge is inside a GALAXYFORGE folder next to the rebellion exe) but if you are not a rebel ten you will want to download it from the media page (btw the two different locations are because the map file structures changed in a major way and are not directly compatable. harpo the NON-subscriber

the rumours that I have heard suggest that the interface switches based upon detection of mouse and keyboard with a thumpscream (ie no thumpscream display and mouse/keyboard not detected, then total confusion, mouse/keyboard detected uses desktop interface, thumpscream detected, but no keyboard/mouse detected use phone/tablet buggerface) and I hope this is NOT how it will work, personally I WANT desktop mode on my computers ONLY not the buggerface harpo, the NON-subscriber

the reference files are for MODDERS or those wanting to create a MOD as they are text converted copies of the entitiy files from the game. the only ways to update are 1 download the latest full version files from thee stardock store and install 2 (if steam registered and purchased) update with steam 3 (if NOT steam registers/purchased) the gamestop impulse downloader. there are several causes of dumps most likely to least likely, 1 errors in mod

ah, the INFAMOUS norton(sillymentek) VIRUS problem (claims to be an anti virus BUT lets (and perhaps invites) virii into the computer). personally I am currently using avast, and several of my customers are using avg, and even a few are using avira, and the richest are using kaspersky, but NONE are using norton harpo the NON-subscriber

I also get the not-responding on convertdata's when it is the WRONG (either expansion OR version number)version for the data files which is why I use the path (that has the version number and expansion in it) to select the correct version (or if not found then use the current from the game folder), but I have not actually used the convertdata in several windows updates harpo the NON-subscriber

and most (if not all) of the calls on behalf of my customers started during business hours, and yet I had the missfortune to get the bloody indian/pakis better than 60% of the time, the philipinos about 30% and the tiny remaining percentage is actual aussies in other states (sometimes maddness, sometimes political insanity, and ONCE even in silly knee (after that call I assumed that ALL my good luck had run out and used MAXIMUM paranioa on the journey home after doing everything I could

wintercross, it has been over the last few years that the difficulty in understanding the call centre has happened and have found that the philipino call centres are better than the indian/pakistani, but the best is when the call is escalated to the level 3 (apparently aussie) Harpo, the NON-subscriber

poor wintercross, it sounds like you were one of the few customer service people that actually earned the SERVICE part of the title, in my many conversations with the telstra 'support' desk (on behalf of my customers), I would on average get approx 15% that gave me the impression that they WANTED to help solve the problems, the rest seemed to be so thick that they had difficulty even following the support scripts and speaking ENGLISH (most had so thick a indian/pakistani accent that I

starkers, the problems with external drives are 1 MORE powerpoints in use, and more power being used (assuming the higher capacity desktop drive externals)(also the laptop (no power brick) drives are SLOWER than the desktop drives and hold less data 2 usb3 interface does slow the data transfers compared to the internal sata 3 to the same model drive 3 external drives usually run about 10+ c hotter (hdds make cpus look temp tolerant) and with hdds you want the temps to

from my VERY limited (approx 100 customers(majority age pensioners) in my region of australia) the common speed is between 512kbit/sec and 1.5mbit/sec with costs of approx $70-100/month and about 1gb data (this is in a region that is DSL only with some if it in the process of being converted to the NBN( supposedly fibre, but likely to be 'multimode' or copper wire/dsl update) with the nbn prices ADDING $20-$50/month for the same 10gb/month. personally I have one of the faster

for checking hard drive health, I use both crystal disc info AND hard disc sentinel, while crystal disc info gives a quick good caution, bad indication and other info in plain language, it is limited to just those ratings, and hard disc sentinel gives a percentage of drive health. harpo the NON-Subscriber

galaxyforge ONLY uses the GalaxyScenarioDef, and the game first loads the files from the manifest, then uses the playerRACE.entity files then the galaxyscenariodef and finally the .galaxy (at least that is the way it looks to me) (btw did you update the COUNTS in the manifest(assuming you added the extra entities at the end)? harpo the NON-subscriber
