Well, I don't know how much I'll help everyone, but here's a couple things I've learned. 1) If the colors go all funky at all, it's because you have too many colors. Go back to Photoshop (or GIMP or whatever) and switch it back to RGB mode (or 256 color mode, or something that has more than 16 colors) and then back to indexed color mode, and make it choose 16 colors again.
