For me, it's the monster from Colverfield.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield_%28creature%29 I love the conept of a monster on a rapage not because it's evil, but because it's scared, and seeing it from a regular Joe's point of view make it all themore terrifying.
Cloverfield...are you nuts? That's the biggest waste of $9.50 I've ever spent on a movie. It was beyond abysmal, and the ending was absolutely atrocious. It defines why I rarely ever go to the movies, ren

If they would start drilling off the coast, in Alaska, in Brazil, and now in North Dakota we could be out of this mess and prevent oil from going that high. If they had simply started drilling 10 years ago when Alaska came up and it was defeated by 1 vote, then we wouldn't have the problem we have today. Yes, oil is finite, but we keep finding new deposits of it all the time. They found a bunch down in Antarctica (the Russians are eagerly going after it) and over in Greenland. Recently there was

I don't think it works at all now. They nerfed it with the number of targets it could affect and then they nerfed it again with how the damage is distributed. If the damage does ever get applied, it unfortunately only gets applied after malice ends, so it gives your opponent even longer to cause damage against you even if the ship has already racked up enough damage via malice to be destroyed. Also, you can't select what malice gets applied to, which basically ruins its effectiveness. This balan

Crysis hit over 1 million sales this past February when counting box sales. It's also not too far short of 2 million now when you consider box sales and online sales. Crysis has sold excellently, but the developer/publisher wanted to see Halo 3-like sales in the 3 to 5 million range. Considering the absurd requirements for Crysis, horrid plot/story, limited gameplay, and abysmal cheat-loaded multiplayer, they should be thrilled that they've sold as well as they have. Regardless of how good or ba
V1.05 has came out, are you going to play multyplayer again because of this?
Nope...and not that I played multiplayer against random people online anyway (I did play select matches with friends though). The problem I have is that my interest in Sins has completely died off. Yeah, I'm still checking this place out hoping that something new comes along that catches my attention. Balance patches just aren't going to do that. It's got to be new things that add to the game.

What about the attack range on the missile barrage ability? I haven't played Sins in quite a while, but I recall that Marza's loved to sit just outside of that ability's effective range and never turn it on because the ability's range is less than the actual planet bombardment weapon range. I'd have to move the Marza closer to the planet to get auto-casting working. It might be wise to increase the radius for the missile barrage ability to match with the range for a regular generic planet bomb/m

It's an aerobatics team performing an entertainment stunt and not a military parade. I don't see the problem. It's no different from the USA's Blue Angels. Yeah, they both fly modified fighter jets, but they do so in a way that's artful and entertaining, not militaristic. It's not like there's grey fighter jets flying by with fully loaded tactical arsenals and weapons with a control center sitting waiting to give a command to engage something. There's a huge difference, and banning an aerobatics
CenturionJixra As far as I know, UT3 (for the PC), in spite of all its faults, does not count bots as players in the server browser. However, that was a shortcoming of UT 2004.
It used to count them before the first or second patch and definitely before the web admin tool came out. I stopped playing that game a long time ago for a bunch of reasons (mainly hearing 'take it!' every 5 seconds among other serious flaws and one of the developers, Jeff Morris, being an asshol

Hey, it could be worse! You could log on, see a handful of people in the lobby, notice there are hundreds of 'players' online and that every server is populated well, and then join random servers to find out that those 'players' are actually bots and there's not a single human to be found. Ah, the waste of money UT3 was. :( That's not really helpful, but it could be worse. Considering I'm biased in that I don't like to play against random online people, it's not a big deal for me, but it looks l

Wait a minute...Suey uses as an excuse that they don't want to optimize the game for the wide variety of PC's, both low and high, and also says that they don't want to dumb down the game so people with lower spec machines can't enjoy it the way it's supposed to be enjoyed? Then they turn around and specify it's coming out for PS2, PSP, and Wii? All 3 of those platforms get eaten alive by the PC gaming market, not the general PC owner market. Hell, I've got a LAPTOP that's a couple of years old a
Something i don't get about Sci-fi channel is that they have never shown any of the Star Wars movies. How come they don't? PS:I hope that the upcoming Star Wars miniseries will be shown on Sci-fi.
Sci-Fi is too busy pumping out crappy movies and figuring out how to squeeze more commercials into Ghost Hunters to really care about Star Wars and other sci-fi things. I can't recall a single original movie or series they've made that I like (that includes that abomination

Wait a minute...what they had was beyond horrible. Now what they're rolling back to is just as bad as what was used on Bioshock and why I didn't buy that game either. I'm starting to think this was done on purpose to soften people up to the idea of their latest copy-protection schemes. Next time we'll see them come out with a scheme that checks every time you play, and then they'll roll it back to the once every 10 days thing. They'll shock people and then pull back a bit. In some ways,

The battles in Sins are more Star Wars like than Star Trek like. That's the big difference. Yes, ships move around a little and you can even command them to move around and they'll keep firing. However, they're happy just bringing their best weapons to bear on the enemy. Now with Trek ships there's cool-downs, energy/power levels, weapon emplacements on every part of a ship, different shield regions, and a whole bunch of other technical things that necessitates the need to fly around in evasive
Prezo I'm guessing that its already too late to ask for your assistance with the BFG mod? we could realy use a skinner/texturer at the moment its the only thing that is setting us back. if you would consider helping us it would be a briliant help as other than the skins and emmiter points we are almost set for ships for our first two racesPrezo
Unfortunately, that's the hardest thing for me to do right now due to file format conflicts, although it's far from impossible.

The current Sins Plus is supposed to be compatible with 1.04. You can download 7 Deadly Sins which is building upon was Sins Plus had an incorporating a whole bunch of stuff already or in the near future. That is also 1.04 compatible.
Carbon016 The modeler situation is far from perfect at the moment. Quite a few did some stuff for the mod and then we didn't hear from them again. We're more in need of skinning, as that's more of a bottleneck at the moment, but we do need modelers as well.
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. I'll send Swiss Knight an email Saturday (it's rather late right now). Are you looking to have the larger ships modeled? I see a bunch of fighters and what looks to be smaller ships. Som

xxx_diresaint_xxx, are you having a situation where, when properly textured, your model appears partially transparent? Just wondering if that's what's one of the texture issues you're experiencing. I get that in my modeling program, but it doesn't cross over to in game. Thanks again for the help! >^.=.^<

Carbon016, I took a look over the ModDB page and also at the forums for Dawn of Victory. The concept art for your mod is nice and there's a lot of stuff to work with. It looks like you guys already have half a dozen modelers though. I just don't understand why you'd be looking for another modeler when it looks like a bunch of people already signed up.

EDIT: Looks like I've got a couple of good leads. Thanks for all the offers. :) For a while I was going to work on my own personal mod project. However, I've decided to can the idea and look for a mod project to join as a 3d asset creator. I tend to get involved in a lot of things and have my own personal OpenGL game going on as well as a map for a contest UT3 is holding (forget about that map thin

xxx_diresaint_xxx, what I've noticed with your models is that the UV's are completely absent and no UV snapshot can be taken. Those models do not appear to be texture mapped although you have applied different colored materials to certain polygons. When I bring up your models in Maya I get no UV's what-so-ever, and that's a big problem when it comes to texturing time. The game and any modeling software won't know what parts of the texture go into which polygon at what orientation. For a

As for texturing in xsi, I'll see what I can find. I don't even know how to build a model in xsi right now, but if you have an xsi file of the mesh you're trying to get textures set up on, feel free to post it and I'll download it, do a pair of file conversions and let you know what the UV's and normals look like and any more advice if I can track something down (might be helpful).

My modeling is done in an old academic version of Maya equipped with an obj, directx, and xsi export tools. For the above files, the modeling was done in Maya, exported to obj, imported to XSI Mod Tool, and then exported as xsi. This allows me to do a history/hierarchy-less transfer from Maya to XSI Mod Tool so that only geometry and UV's get transfered. Unfortunately, this has also failed to work as evidenced by the above files. I don't understand why the problem keeps coming up or why my conve
