Reply to A challenge for a new skin in Skinning WinCustomize Forums

Well u can try the tutorials section of the forums to learn skinning techniques etc. As for being a cold thread, well tis Christmas eve as i write this, I'll wager most wont be on. Possibly off at families and or busy for the holidays. So dont get too bummed if it dont see much action for a few days etc. Give it time,, the community here is pretty giving.

I do believe that Giz and 2of3 are correct in believing this post was more for the devs@ SD. In asking if they have abandoned Vista since there are items in SKS that seem to look like they work for vista but only work on win7. [e digicons];)[/e]

BootSkin XP Download Alternative Versions Some drivers and bios makers "break the rules" which can cause Bootskin XP to not work correctly. Jafo is correct, I worked with Francis on LS and stayed on as "beta tester" with the first development team. Interestingly enough my first skin ever, was a little task manager meter background, http://www.ls-themes.org/modules/lstaskman . Upon leaving the LS dev team ( after 0.24.0 was released) I wandered around for a few years frequenting Custo.org, Razorart,etc. WC became my second home when after watching the forums a while,

Yes Aston is a shell replacement like Litestep used to be, (tho it seems LS now runs on top of explorer in vista and win7). Aston shell was a decent prog I liked it but, it was incomplete without Icon and Cursor support. That and the number of skins for WB etc, compared to Aston kept me from wandering too far from home.. It fits well here as WC is a skinning site and this is the "general areas, new releases" section. Tho it could have easily fit in "OS customization, Customization software" as well. As long as its skinning related and conducive of the community at large, I dont see the harm in other devs posting goodies to play with. Remember folks, while we are a petty good chunk of the skinning community, were only but a part of a greater whole.
