The reason it will never work on highest (It actually does work, just not for very long) is because Sins loads everything into memory before you play the game rather then on-demand like other games. The advantage is you never have to wait for loading while playing, the disadvantage is that the game reaches the 2Gig memory usage limit very fast and crashes when it tries to exceed that. This limit cannot be changed because it is a limit inherent to all 32 bit programs and Windows it

I'm just being nit picky and giving you a hard time. I love it when games use the words Battleship, Battlecruiser, and Dreadnought... Especially at the same time to describe different ships and make them radically different. After all, the Battlecruiser and Dreadnought are both Battleships. Just the Battlecruiser traded off armor to get more speed over a typical Battleship and the Dreadnought was a name of a specific Battleship that all others built after it based on i

Yeah.... Not exactly what I meant. The Marza is already classified by the TEC as a Dreadnought, hence it's name the Marza Dreadnought. When you guys added the new ships, classifying them as Dreadnoughts, did you by chance reclassify the Marza and rename it so that the TEC doesn't end up having two dreadnoughts? (Albeit, different in function.) I guess I could do it the easy way and just play the game, but it's just more fun to troll. =] [quote who="

Yeah yeah, another night of not going to sleep.... Multiplayer's gonna be strange later for sure... Yeah anyway, since I've got the time, and Carbon already volunteered me to make a new UI, I figured, what the hell. I had already updated all of the buttons for the DS Vanilla version while I was making it work with the latest version of the game, so I may as well do some other fun little things with it. Here's where I'm at with that. Not sold on the lettering yet,

Well, I did some playing around with the files controlling the sound and didn't get any real positive results from the tweaking. The issue seems to crop up because of files being copied repeatedly, or so goes the theory I've been told. I have figured out though, that (when I'm playing as the TEC) if you've destroyed the offending phase gate and allowed some time to pass so that the info card isn't showing a phase node active in the well anymore, to make the sound go away, ge

They look about the same to me. I think the biggest difference you're seeing is that most mods using sins plus and celestial bodies are for entrenchment and diplomacy and have you reducing the graphics so you don't hit the 2gig limit and crash 10 minutes into your game, whereas this was in original Sins (no expansions) and I turned all of the graphics up to highest, turned on the skyboxes and bloom and everything else to produce the best images I could and ran the system with a dozen sc

Hey Ryat, what the hell is Robert Sarver doing to your team? Asks GM Steve Kerr, sorry, former GM Steve Kerr, to take a pay cut prompting him to walk out on the team. At least they still have assistant GM David Griffin... Whoops, never mind... A couple hours after Kerr bailed, I assume Sarver said something to Griffin and then Griffin left... No biggie. At least he's not screwing with the players anymore like in years past... Oh, no wait... Amar

I guess you could try this download manager add-on for firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201/ At the very least it should let you resume where you disconnected from so you don't have to start over again. Should being the key word there. I keep a free cable attached to my router specifically for connecting laptops to it when they need to get larger downloads and are having issues with wireless disconnects. So you may want to borrow someone'

Downloading it now to have a look. I'll have to convert it to 1.191 to play it though, but it shouldn't matter since I'm looking at visuals and not game play balance, however, based on the only picture I could find on it, it would appear that those planet types mentioned, the only real difference is that the planet had it's health bumped up, the ring chance was increased to 100%, probably some modeling done to make the rings look nicer... I guess if I take screeni

For anyone who wants to get a jump start on some corrective actions, this download fixes the issue of the oceanic planets pointing to paradise planet icons on the info card and the look of the planet when your ship is in the gravity well or when you own the planet on the zoomed out view. http://sites.google.com/site/steelers086/gamefiles/OceanFix.rar I actually made a whole new set of icons for it, but after going back and reading Uzii's posts abo
