bump for new version
i know its possible to change the speed the ship travels in phase space, but i dont know if you can change the charge up time
You mean individually? Because as far as I can tell the only place to change the travel speed is in the same file as changing charge speeds (which affects the entire race)
does anyone know if there is anyway to change it individually for different ships?
What does phase disruption do? Make charge up times much much higher or something? And if so, how long is the phase charge up time when leaving a star?
atm it's exactly the same as a phase disruptor, 250% longer charge ups leaving stars.
Nice, I've been working on something similar. Looks like there are others out there who want a faster game. How does the size of the star's gravity well affect things?
I just found before that stars gravity wells were too small to have proper fights, and now the increased gravity well, phase disruption and solar regeneration means you can have truly epic fights around stars and you can use them as choke points now.
gameplay.constants offerOrAcceptTreatyHappinessThreshold:CeaseFire .50 changing it to -1 should work
I've made it, it works fine Havn't changed any of the ability names/icons. Cooldown is low for testing. It also effects both teams, but these things are all easily changable [link="http://files.filefront.com/Phaseblockzip/;9685624;/fileinfo.html"]link to .entity files[/link]
ok, for a start it says "ApplyBuffToSelf", but the only allowed targets are frigates and capital ships (ie. not itself). Also, you shouldn't base it off HyperspaceDisruption, you should base it off something like Animosity (AbilityTaunt). I don't think you should use a buff spawner like HyperspaceDisruption uses
Just finished the next version of my mod, the key changes from the [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=443&aid=300352"]previous version[/link] are: -Normal speed is roughly the same as Fast speed was last version, Fast speed is much faster. Slow speed is roughly unmodded fast speed. -Phase jump charge up time increased to 11 seconds from 7 seconds -Siege weapons do double damage -Stars have 50% larger gravity well, and have phase jump disruption (Stars are now k
I think if the ability is badly defined it doesn't show up, could you paste the ability file (if it's not too long) Also, make sure you have ability:0 "AbilityHyperspaceDisruption" ability:1 "YOURABILITYHERE" Also, the ability file must be identical to the name (what you put for "YOURABILITYHERE") with .entity on the end (YOURABILITYHERE.entity)
Yes, you can. The base setting is under the "hyperspaceData" heading in the Player[Race}.entity file: baseHyperspaceAntiMatterCost 100.0 baseHyperspaceChargeUpTime 7.000000
thanks a lot, just found it my self...was searching for phase jump not hyper space :/
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the phase jump charge time, and if so which file(s) it's in thanks
As far as I know, the devs have not confirmed how Armour actually works, although there are theories based on some info from the game files.
I'm fairly sure each point of armour increases effective hp by 5%, but it's non-commulative, ie. 2 armour wouldn't increase hp by 10%, it would do it by 5% + 5%*95% = 9.75% I'm partly guessing this from the gameplay.constants "HullPointPercentageIncreasePerArmorPoint 0.05", and partly because that's how it works in warcraft 3 and this
I'm not too sure about those values, seems a bit too much to me. Maybe 5x turn rate and double speed/acceleration maximum?
That's what I thought at first, but the standard turn rates are rediculously slow. One of the things that really anoyed me before is the best way of retreating was to run straight past their fleet, as you could jump out the other side before they had finished turning :/
If the upcoming patch is anything like this, I know that I and quite a lot of people will stop playing or just mod the speed back down... At least if changes like those are made for all speeds. If would be an additional 'faster' setting, I wouldn't care. (Though I'd request an additional 'slower' setting as well.)
I dont have time for 2+ hour games, and I know there are a lot of people who want this game speeded up. And what aries said is true, if the games are taking 2+ hours
I've created a mod to speed up the game and generally increase the action, a quick overview of changes is: 10 times turn rate for all ships only 15% shield mitigation for all ships except up to 35% shield mitigation for capital ships Ships move ~3 times faster, and accelerate much faster Research and resource collection ~50% faster Build times are same as original Pirates don't attack for 150 minutes (This is just because I hate pirates, could easily change it, although
