As the title asks, and which is your least favorite and why? I myself Enjoy the Drath (War Profiteering is insane) and the Korath. War Profiteering for the Drath totally changed that way I usually play them. In DA I usually went for an influence or Diplomatic victory. Now, instead, I research Diplomacy Techs and military, and use War Profiteering to launch my economy to dizzying levels, while formenting wars and selling powerful ships to whoever's losing. As the other races whittle eachot
that was quick, thanks a ton!
Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could help me out here, two questions; 1) Is there a way to change the stardock account associated with a previous purchase? I registered my Gold Edition with an email adress, and recently had to change adresses. I preordered TotA today, using a stardock account with a new email adress. It'd be nice if I could get both games accosiated with the new account. 2) Am I still able to get access to the beta for ToA now that I've preordered it? It's not
I read in an interview with one of the devs that they have programmed the engine to have no limit to model polygons or texture size in GalCiv2. This effectively means that they can keep upgrading the look of GalCiv2 without ever having to make a new engine. If you look at the texture differences between DA and ToA, it's pretty stunning. and they say ToA uses LESS memory to run. Because of this, I don't see a GalCiv3 coming out for quite a long time. They can conceivably just keep making
Look. We already have race distinction: custom techs and buildings and modules and and and... Once SD codes the editors, we have UNLIMITED possibility to mod techs and buildings. But if they spent that time on making a super ability, then all we would have is one super ability.
I sense a bit of frustration there. I'll point out again that I wasn't fortunate enough to get into the TotA beta, and I haven't heard enough about the tech and building editors t
Take comfort in that fact that this game requires a heck of a lot more thought and strategy than most of whats out there. Not that other games are bad, mind you, but this is definitely a more cerebral (and creative!) game than most. I'm also one of the only ones out of all my friends who plays TBS games like this, and yeas, it does get lonely sometimes, but we're all different. And face it, they probably just can't understand why this game rocks so hard :P
It all really depends on what the priorities of the devs are. I am fully aware that there would be a lot of work involved in something like this. I also know that the devs have said that they intend to constantly work on this game to make it better. If they decide that customization is a big deal, then this would be a possible way to do it. The AI is already getting modified on a fairly consistent basis. Yes, it may be difficult, but I have every confidence in the devs, should they
Actually I think in ToA it's the racial tech trees that really define the races now, to my mind super abilities are almost redundent now. And with the tech editor I think I could add cheap early tech that represented a sort of super ability.
That sounds a bit promising, but I haven't played the beta yet, nor how I read anything about a tech editor. I'm not sure how creative you'd be able to get with it, however, as far as unique modules like the spore module or m
We've asked for more super abilities but none of the devs want to make more. Disappointing, I know..... Other than that most are good. I like the raider one, the only problem would be the micromanaging but they could add a automation for that.

I believe that it's said that Super Powers are hardcoded, so we can't do it ourselves. I'm sorry that's the way it is, because I really like your ideas.
That really is a pity, because I think there's
So I was thinking at work, because it's mindless work, about the possibility of the devs adding new Super Abilities that don't necessarily correspond with any of the main races, but are strictly to add more variety to custm races. Would this be viable? I even have a few ideas. I tried to make these as balanced as I could, despite the fact that the normal Super Abilities aren't quite balanced anyway (Super Anhialator anyone?) Super Capitalist: Your Credits are worth twice and much in the t
