A few days before christmas a mailman is dropping off mail on a porch when the door opens and a beautiful blonde wearing sexy lingerie invites him inside. She has sex with him, then hands him a single dollar bill and tells him to get out. He's like, "What's going on?!?" She says, "Well, my husband and I were thinking what to get people for christmas, and when I asked about the mailman he said 'Fuck the mailman! Give him a dollar and throw him out!'"

I've found that the easiest way to move your stuff to a new machine is copy/paste. That is of course if you've been keeping your personal files in a single, well organized location. But you've been doing that, right? ;) Settings from various programs is a different story. I've tried a few software packages that claim to do this for you seamlessly, but none were compatible with all of the programs that I use. But then again, since I'm re-installing those o
Windows 7 Enron Edition - Shreds all .XLS and .ODS files upon exit. Windows 7 Offshore Edition - Only works during night hours; Software installs take 3 weeks; Costs $10. Windows 7 Palin Edition - Can see Linux from its window.
Uninstalling OD+, doing a cleanup Seabass suggested and re-installing fixed the issue for me on my XP SP2 machine. Will try on my Vista rig tonight.
I also suddenly lost systray icons in my OD+ (version 1.91k[a].025 as reported by Impulse) on both my Vista Business 32bit and XP Pro SP2 machines. No other system changes, just a restart seems to have broken the functionality. The log file is saying that there was a vailure activating the product. What gives?!?

I see. Mind if I bump this thread in another 6 months time? ;)
If you drag a shortcut to the dock the dock icon doesn't link to the original app, it links to the desktop shortcut. So if you delete the desktop shortcut OD doesn't have anywhere to go.You should find the root file or app and drag THAT to the dock for the best results.
This option: seems to disagree. And even with it selected it still points to the shortcut. Or am I misunderstanding wh

6 months later... Any replies from Stardock regarding the SDK? Any progress on dynamic dreams?
Moving the dock back to where I like it seems faster to me than exiting OD before a gaming session and launching it again right after.
I hope WinXP support and bug fixes will not be swept under the rug in favor of shiny.

1. There is a setting that gives you several options over how you'd like to view the Dream that isn't the same resolution as your desktop. Stretch is one of them. 2. No clue. I got my copy when I purchased Object Desktop.
A few years back I was working as a software developer for a company that resold prepaid airtime for wireless providers (Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Cingular, Tracfone, etc.) The airtime was being purchased directly from the provider, and then sold to brick-and-mortar outlets. In the beginning these were actual prepaid cards (with PINs and bar-codes) that were physically shipped to us. We'd scan them into our inventory system, and after selling them, we'd ship them to the stores. Later o
I've been a Trill user since before they went commercial with Pro 1.0 back in '02. Currently alpha-testing Astra, and loving it. Even though it's not even in Beta stages, sometimes I feel that it's more stable than other commercial products installed on my laptop.
It says "Have more fun with your PC" isn't available with Home Basic. Lucky for me I found WinCustomize,I've got that covered.
And if you're still not having fun with your PC, I'm sure that forum members will be happy to recommend a few other sites. Gnome sain'?. :p
I imagine only a person who is a pirate would have a problem with using Impulse. Stop making waves over nothing. Not true. I have Impulse, and I bought Sins of a Solar Empire: Collector's Edition. And I DO have a problem with using Impulse as the exclusive means to deliver patches. And being a customer, I'd like stand-alone patches as an alternative to Impulse.Don't get me wrong, I think Impulse is a very good idea. However, it could also turn out to be horrific for the gaming communit
