Hey, I was wondering if its possible to delve a little deeper into how the scripting behind the UI works. That is, change how different screens interact with each other, adjust the events that call them etc. Basically, I want to remove that stupid robot movie that plays when you research a new tech. Instead I want to add an icon that drops down at the right side of the game area, similar to what happens when a new planetary improvement is completed or a ship is built. <b

I was wondering if there was a way to modify the User Interface. I absolutely hate the sluggish, buggy default UI and how it responds to triggers. On top of all the bugs, there are so many minor annoyances. Like if event music is disabled and background music is enabled, background music still stops when event music would normally play. Anyone know?

I have run into the following issues that really have started to annoy me. I only bought this game 2 weeks ago and would hate to write it off as too buggy to play. 1. Reloading save games doesn't always work as expected. Most of the time the loaded game is corrupted in some way. I have seen alot of wierd behavior after loading saved games. These problems are more likely to happen if you reload save games many times in a row. Restarting the game and *then* laoding the saved game fixe

I do have SDC, i downloaded the game from there 2 days ago. Which pretty much means that my game should be perfectly up to date. I doubt there has been a patch in the last 2 days. In SDC it says that I have: GalCiv2 v1.50.135 Dark Avatar v1.80g.100 Heightmaps v1.59.022 Twilight of the Arnor v0.97[b].100 But explain this to me ... why is it loading save games over and over causes problems? That has to be a bug, right? I mean the game is damn buggy, and each time

Hmm another error I often encounter is that after loading a savegame (especially one of the autosaves). When I try to move a ship I get the error message that the ship is "out of range" and that I need to set a course back to the nearest planet of mine. All this with ships right next to my planets. And of course restarting the game works. Also just encountered another crash upon maximizing the game: AppName: gc2darkavatar.exe AppVer: 1.7.0.0 ModName: gc2darkavatar.ex

Awesome, thanks :) Going to test that reg file right now. Still I think this game could be better from a usability point of view. Like if you set rally points and ships get "stuck" on a planet halfway through their path ... Or if you select a ship while the game is still doing something else at the start of a turn (like move other ships, or show the tech screen), and then the ship you clicked on gets deselected. Or if you add planetary improvements, it places the mouse

I have just recently bought GalCiv 2 and it has to be the buggiest game ever released. I have used Stardock Central to patch the game to its newest version. Problems I have found so far are: 1. When repeatedly loading a game, the resulting state of the loaded game might become very random over time. For example: - Ships might refuse to take orders and just hover there and basically play dead for the rest of the game. - Fleets might refuse to move greater distances at a t
