Happy thanksgiving to all btw :) edit - will try shutting down all non essential processes and see how that goes ^^ thanks for the suggestion

First post - ''two computers(One almost brand new, one slightly older(1 year/3 years) Galactic Civ 2 will consistently crash on Save/Load'' The debug.err files are from the older computer, I will post the debug.err from this one as well but it was primarily evidence towards it not being an out-of-date computer issue, and it not being a driver issue(I posted specs of the new computer before) it is literally only crashing when I click the save, or load button on either co

I will do that but on this computer(Newer, not the one the debug.err files were posted from) I ran Galciv and the video card/drivers are Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX / 178.24 I will try updating to 180.48 but the driver 178.24 is less than 3 months old, this computer also has 2gigs of ram and a much better processor, I spammed about 250 turns into a Gigantic map w/ ''cpu intensive AI algorithims'' went to save/load, re-loaded once again. crash on clicking the load button. That being said

Playing Galactic Civilization II: Dread Lords, latest impulse update 1.53.136 / I dont know how detailed the err files are I have spent alot of time replicating the crashes, but most of the crashes freeze up the computer to the point of needing to force a power down which does not seem to give an updated debug.err, or record on SmartException I have sent the one SmartException file, Save Game and Err files to [email protected] & [email protected], just a moment and I'll post t

Wondering if anyone has a quick resolution to this or is having the same problem, on two computers(One almost brand new, one slightly older(1 year/3 years) Galactic Civ 2 will consistently crash on Save/Load which makes gameplay very frustrating no other issues except the very very rare crash on turn, but both computers above and beyond exceed all requirements for the game =/ v edit v uh oh I think I broke the thread :X I assumed I was supposed to post the entir

Just recently started playing Galciv2(thanks to everyone who helped getting it installed, and stardock) and I have a couple questions. First two about planets, well planets/anomalys. third about logistics 1. Population Growth, even my home planet seems to be growing very very slowly and I didnt notice any research to boost it although I did colonize alot in the beginning does that effect it negatively? and if so whats the 'magic number' that I sho

Email has been sent, thank you for the link. Should I send another email about the inability to get to www.stardock.com ? I can get to impuse, sins website, galciv website etc just not stardock. To clarify all four computers have seperate IP addresses, and all are connected to the internet able to 'surf' any other website just the two are blocked from stardocks 'main' website for some reason, yet the other two are able to access it just fine

Okay so roughly Five days ago I purchased Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords from Best Buy, Primarily for my father as he is a very big fan of Masters of Orion II, and it looked quite similar. We have four computers, I installed it on mine to show it to him as he was having issues with his at the time, screwed around in a sandbox map for about an hour and quit. At this point it recognized the serial code just fine, was able to update the game & heightmaps with no
