Does Fences affect Gaming/Graphics Software Performance? in Stardock Support General WinCustomize Forums

the topic title says it all. does it slow down games, and affect fps, does is harm the performance of applications like Maya or 3d max or photoshop? is there anything in the code that disables fences when a full screen game starts (like who windows disables aero when in a game) hope you can help Many thanks.

i would go for object desktop, but to be honest i just want windowblinds (for the nice refreshing and inspiring look of the pc.) and object dock for the sheer useability of it. plus free logon studio added in and i have a great setup. [U]oh and an update on the max and maya issues. OKAY COOL THANKS A LOT NEIL well after using max with object dock all seems to be fine. so that's made me very happy, i shall buy both and if window blinds has trouble with max and maya i shall exclude them and be a VERY happy customer. will go for the one including the wincustomize subscription so i can go download crazy :D going to be great :) one off-topic question: i know this isn't the right topic but i wont create a new one but are

hopefully it works fine with maya and maxc then cause i tried winstep and that cause NO errors at all

yeah i have a good top spec system, so i don't mind having object dock on all the time unless i'm rendering something big, however i would like as little errors as possible. so if anyone can confirm on the issue of OD and graphical glitches in max and maya i would appreciate it. definitely getting window blinds now i know i can exclude programs. but i really want object dock with all the features it has. if OD can work well with the system i will be very happy.

what about object dock, i hear it causes the same errors as windowblinds does for those programs. in fact i think i remember using them both with ONLY object dock on and the same graphical errors were still apparent. if this is incorrect i will be VERY happy and will get straight to buying them both :) im on xp pro by the way

i used them a long while ago (trial versions) and loved what they set out to do, but ran into some problems. 1: i am an avid user of maya and 3d max, and found, with either one, there were graphical glitches all over the screen inside the apps. 2: i also found that when using media player classic, the screen would go black when maximized. however this is a bit of a non-problem as i am not using it anymore (using VLC and adding any codec i need as i go) basically i will purch

had a look around and am not finding much. its similar to foxy tunes which is a firefox plugin that allows you to control whatever medie player you want within the window. hope you can help.
