I'm not impressed at all, they've gained them selves maybe 5 days of grace (at most, probably none in reality) between releasing the game and it being cracked? And to do that they've paid someone to add phone home software to the game?! More annoyance for us and little or no gain for them seems to be a double failure on their part.

I've a similar system (Laptop) with a somewhat better CPU and 4GB of RAM (Game running on highest) and I've only seen the game start to lag a little late game when all the ai's have large fleets bounching around and I zoom all the way in on fights with Hundreds of ships duking it out(90+ planets with 5 AI's). However the game happily uses 1GB+ RAM for me, I suspect the cause of the lag is the CPU your X2 3800 is a 1.8Ghz Dual core CPU and you may note the min requirements are a 1.8Ghz Single co

Safety and the differing environment would be big ones. Playing around with advanced physic's and something goes bang, you get a pretty light in the sky rather than a big smoking hole in the ground. A Guard mode would be nice or formations. A guard mode so you can grab a group of support ships and tell them to Guard a capital ship and they stick close to it follow it, and attack things when they move into range. The alternative would be: Some formations support, say a Sphere or Cube and a Cone on it's side or a V formation maybe a Wall formation? Capital battleships and attack Cruisers/Frigates at the front and support elements in the middle with Long Range ships
