I like what you're saying.
Giving up a leader to turn a colony into a core world is a sacrifice.
Not sure to understand what you mean. The leader is gone or goes into a pool of leader from where you can give him new tasks? How different are the leaders in GalCiv4 from the ones in Star Dynasties? PS: Hi Martok [e digicons];)[/e]
I love MOO3... But GC4 is going to be a very different game. Wonder how close it's going to be to Star Dynasties.
Is it only one tech at a time? Would love to have multiple techs in different fields being worked on at the same time (Master of Orion) style. Would be more realistic imho. Was never keen with the one tech approach from the Civilization design.
Thanks For the most part, we're doing well. Of the Impulse team, most of us went on to bigger and better things over the last 12 or so months. A few moved into other positions within GameStop, but those who moved out of the company went on to some pretty interesting stuff. A few of the companies Impulse alums went to: Yvolver Night Dive Studios Spil Games Unity Games <br /
Quoting Anguille, reply 5In Steam, when you launch it and notice there's connections problems, you can't swith to off-line...then it's too late. You can switch to offline in Steam even if you don't have a connection. You don't need to be online to switch to offline mode. I've had to do this several times due to my ISP. It will generally try and go online, but after that, you can jus
As has been said impulse was sold to gamestop some years ago. Haven't tried to purchase anything through it for a while though I assume gamestop are still running so you might have another issue. Impulse was fine but when it was sold to gamestop I gave up on it. Steam I find is pretty good and beats the other online software shops hands down though in it's day Impulse was a good competitor. I do howeve
I can still install my games but can't buy any new one. I always prefered Impulse over Steam...i don't like all this thing about renting games....
Very unhappy... [e digicons]>:([/e] And i didn't get a mail...
Just launched my impulse app to buy a game and what do i see? No app purchase anymore...ok, i go to the purchase internet page and now it says only purchases in the US...what the? Thank you very much Stardock for abandoning what used to be a great alternative to steam.... [e digicons]>:([/e]
I am all for a GOG edition...never bought a single game from steam and hope i will never have to give them money. However, they should release GalCiv2 there before. As soon as i have some money to spare, i'll buy a founder edition...i am broke now so will have to wait.
Quoting Anguille, reply 56 I would love to see GalCiv3 with Sins of a solar empire battles...that's me. I'd hate to see tactical battles in GalCiv3, both rts or tbs. I'd like GalCiv to concentrate on strategical warfare, and not human tactical exploits. We have enough of those kind of space games already, and it's not making them any better, just much poorer strategy-wise. <
Starting bids on these IPs were $100k. The ending bids were substantially higher. I had bid $1.2M on Master of Orion which was more than what Total Annihilation got.
I am really worried about what they are going to do with Master of Orion...another MMO...:(
GOG it is for me...about 100 games there...best games, best team, no drm.
Looking good!
I love Steam. I won't use Impulse, or anything else associated with GameStop.
This is so ridiculous... facepalm
Well if you buy a Stardock game on Steam, you're fine as long as either Stardock OR Steam are around. Of course, if Stardock were ever to fold (not bloody likely) we'd just put our stuff out into the public domain.
Now...that's good to hear!
I don't really mind steam (do not use it yet) and see the advantages of it. What disturbs me is the idea of a monopolistic mean of distribution. There are other digital distributors (like Impulse as you mention it) and yet, when they sell a steam protected game, you need to go trough steam. This could become a major problem one day (see also the comments done by the boss of Valve about his fears with Windows 8).
I am also supporting it!
Only if the game is not as boring as GalCiv 2....
Quoting Anguille, reply 56 Thanks for telling us now. I want a refund because i do not use steam. I also dislike Steam, but I have confirmed with the Beta that once you have activated the game and set Steam to off-line, you can still LAN it. Now to give some Beta feedback...
Well, i still feel betrayed and cheated. Not going to buy anything from Stardock anymore. Too bad.
I ended up trying Armada 2526. Waste of money. Was bored very quickly. Much too simple.
with or without Supernova?
Thanks. The price tag of DW is still making me hesitate, while Armada is not. After reading things about Armada elsewhere, however, I am not sure I understand what makes it better or different than other games already out there, such as Space Empires V. Can someone, especially one who really likes it, tell me briefly why Armada + Supernova > SEV? Thanks much!
For many player SEV isn't running well on Windows 7.
It's not irony. It's the historical fact of the business practices of Gamestop. They are simply not to be trusted.
And steam is more trustworthy? that's ironic.
