Aractain, I am almost at the finale and have about a 85 - 90% maxed pistol skill and until the "endgame" level I was one - shotting everyone going for crits. I consider it my main back up to stealth takedowns. Using regular ammo. So it's possible - just need to specialize in it.

I love the CIV series as well - and why I can live without CIV V. I'll be playing CIV III and IV until hardware and software no longer runs them. Wish someone at the game studios would actually try to find out how many lost, real sales (not pirates who never would have bought it in the first place) are due to the hoops like Steam that many folks just don't want to jump through. Love technology, but the implementation of it baffles me sometimes.

I don't see a problem with Stardock selling draconian DRM games if they are (and have been) up front about it. The market/free enterprise system will make it clear to the publishers - ie: EA as of late. Some companies are slow on the DRM bandwagon and even slower to wake up. Lord of the Rings Online. My first MMO in 1/09; still playing and anxiously awaiting the expansion for Siege of Mirkwood. Check it out; get one of those free to play for a 2 weeks/month keys and give it a look. Game is just absolutely huge as far as the world goes. If you at all into Tolkien's magnum opus, you owe it to yourself. Turbine has done a wonderful job in keeping with the spirt of the book.
