Meh, download the demo and decide for yourself. Personally I was disgusted with the "Tekken" style combat and decided not to buy, others may love it though.
My first thoughts was Japanese RPG - ie: Final Fantasy XIII.

I share the OPs sentiments. I only started PC gaming in 2007, and have probably 60 or so games made between then and now. I used to complain about Securom disk checks, but then I realized it wasn't the technology but loss of personal control over my computing environment that I despised. I'm not that old that I don't remember dumb terminals and mainframes. The Cloud is nothing more than that with a faster connection. Folks have been hoodwinked on this one
dragon age two, dust, witcher 2, and elder scrolls 5 is all i want really (fable 3 is kind of a must for me)
Finally broke down (rather got wife's permission for an early Christmas present) and bought one of the new Xbox 360 slims. Only one left in the store was the Halo Reach limited edition so even better. One of the first games I bought was Fable III - having never played the others was totally impressed

It's not like they started requiring a persistent internet connection or Steam. Bad marketing move? Yes. Boycotting their games because of it though?
The normal Sims I played once in the first version for a few evenings. I borrowed it while a friend was away. Mostly I really didn't get it. Same here. I never understood that craze with that game. Then again, I never understood the Starcraft craze either.
I picked up Sims 3 out of curiousity (and just a disk check - kudos to EA on that one). Was pla
Beta 4 is repeatedly hanging on me. Pastebin doesn't seem to be working right now (I get a blank page after submitting my text), but I will post a link as soon as I can get it to work. So far, I have started two games. The first hung in the first five turns, the first time I was greeted by an enemy unit. The dialog popped up that lets you basically say "we only want peace," but I was uable to do anything. The second game hung around turn 10 or 15 right after I
As of today, the game is now sufficiently ahead of schedule that the Stardock team is no longer in “crunch mode”. If you’re still playing Beta 3C, you should stop before it causes permanent damage (it’s pretty awful).
This is what I LOVE about Stardock - honesty! Other publishers/developers would be going "move along; nothing to see here". I read the latter line in Brad's post and couldn't help but chuckle. It's like
There is a great article on Michigan (Stardock’s home) and other animation/video game devs taking advantage of tax breaks to open and expand their studios. http://news.yahoo.com/s/detroitnws/detroitnws_ts3065 “In Plymouth, PC gaming company Stardock plans to spend $18 million during the next decade to hire employees and expand its facilities to include a new $900,000 studio.
Excellent news! I'm actually playing Oblivion for the 4th time and on 80+ hours already, not even halfway thru. There is sooooo much re playability in that game with tons and tons of mods that fundamentally change the game.
You are as bad as I am. The only reason I ever uninstall this thing is for general system performance and to install other games. This bugger turned me on to RPG/Fantasy; u

I didn't play a Bioware game until Dragon Age (didn't really get into PC gaming until 2007). I don't know where they got their ideas for ME, ME2, Dragon Age, but I can say that I continue to enjoy them and the story writing was superb. EA behaved themselves with just a disk check on DA and ME2 which is what got me off the fence in the first place. I wasn't sure about "space" FPS games but ME blew me away and ME2 was even better. A bit light in the pants as far as RPG

I've gotta tell 'ya - told myself if I got my employment situation straightened out (which I did), I'd preorder Elemental. I did both since Friday. Downloaded the beta and been messing around quite a bit since last night. Notwithstanding it's beta status, this thing is awesome. There are so many influences here I don't know where to start. That it's a bit RPG, bit turn - based strategy tickles me. Realize this thing is the most expensive Stardock game (
