I hate to rain on the parade - but yout question cannot be reasonably answered as 1) We know nothing of the AI fleet size and composition 2) what you want to do with them What I mean by this is that the offensive fleet could be split in two and dominate both AI, or alternative a single AI could hammer both of your fleets if they were combined. There is also the issue of not knowing how you are going to apply the offensive fleet - to kill the AI fl
The issue with ICO this morning has been fixed. This could be a seperate issue. Is there any chance that someone got a hold of your serial number and is currently logged in?
If this is refering to me, I don't believe so. As I said, my issue was due to port 7000 not being open in firewall (FAQ didn't mention this, since it has changed for 1.1 from 6000). I then was playing OK over the weekend, but not last night. I will find out tonight when I ge
i encouage players to become pro. everytime i log on to sins i prey for a great skilled only game. there just isnt ever enough online to do it ;l
That 5v5 huge single system game we had a while back was "Epic" - exploding5heep, Violater666, me, you, How, whip etc... Those are the games that are worth posting the replay of somewhere so people can watch them and learn...
I don't have issues on my 24" widescreen - I'm running at the maximum resolution available to me - 1920
I have no idea what you are asking about - I'm guessing you got a crash and are asking where to send the dump file. But what is going on - you need to explain what you want. And posting for immediate help 20 minutes after you post a topic is not going to get you anywhere...
Its far more enjoyable than someone trash talking you because he early game rushed you.
Most (but not all) "pros" won't trash talk newb unless they deserve it. Some "pros" are young immature kids, so will trash talk as that is all they know, but many "pros" are in their mid 20s or older (like me :(). As I said, they will often give you a pointer here and there - the idea is to get one or two on your team so it is a somewhat balanced...
AFAIK Craig the old ICO server port was 6000 so it gave the "wrong version of ICO detected" error for people with earlier patches, but I've noticed the server port for 1.1 is 7000 now which would mean all the people on port 6000 with earlier game versions will just get a disconnect instead of the wrong version message.
I had fixed my issue with port 7000 (opened it on firewall) and was still getting the error - unable to try again until I get home tonight (about 9 hours
Why is it that everyone who hasn't played online assume an online game takes so long? Big tip. Online is quicker as allies work together - SP takes ages as AI ignores your requests/advice most of the time, and wimps out of fights which make it hard to smash a fleet. Two humans who commit to a fight can knock another down quicker. Therefore quicker game. And yes, if you are new, I probably would beat you one on one. But you can also learn as you go. And if you are in a larger game (4v4
Ditto - I updated an existing ICO post was broken. I was also getting issues with the forums about 5-6 hours ago - 500 error messages, nothing on the front page where the latest topics were listed (sins site, not forums section) and the forums themselves were giving .NET errors or SQL Server 2005 errors.
Is it back down again? I can't connect and the forums where throwing me issues a while back. Obviously they are working now :)
Is it just me or does Impulse really suck?
Largely just you - most people have no issues
Try it on a bigger map and tell me the same thing. The old RA was way overpowered for large maps, but worked for smaller. Now they have fixed it. If the map is that small, you probably shouldn't be going for RA, instead you should be building your fleet!!!!
I believe it was - other language version are coming...
I noticed there were more maps in 1.1, including a new random type - medium large to sit between medium and large...
All text fields now show "string not found" error. Any advice or fix proposal availible?
Are you running the English version of the game???
They are doing a beta for people who pre-purchased.
I don't play online because there is no matching/rating system.... no way for a bunch of beginner/moderate experience users to find each other and exclude the "pros".... I'd like to play with people closer to my own experience level online, not just a bunch of sharks looking for bait.
Without wanting to be rude - you won't improve playing with people at your level (as my Dad used to say when I was a kid). You need to play with/against better players to learn from them (
There is one other point with seige frigates to remember - if you can't build a cap due to getting worked and lack of econ, you can still pump out some seige frigates to try and get a planet...
From what I know, once those XML files are generated, they stay valid and are only updated when something changes. So first up takes a while, but subsequent changes/updates are quicker when determining the delta

I played my first game online in 1.11 - not sure what speed the host had the game set at, but it DID seem faster then 1.05. I just sucked it up and pumped things out...
Try restarting Impulse???
Sorry to disappoint, but they will be fairly equal. Otherwise no one would use CIS or Republic because they would lose.
I know, but that means a ISD will have an equivilent early era ship that can match it, when is actual fact is would have decimated that earlier era ship... :(
2. The ports need to be forwarded to the correct PC behind the router. Make sure the IP of the PC you want to forward all traffic on the specified ports to isn't/hasn't changed.
This has caused me a few issues in the last week and a bit - my PC address changed on me (stupid DHCP)... I also had to open port 7000 on my router to get Sins to work in 1.1 (actually 1.11 by the time I got it working....)
What about granting siege frigs a "Planetary Assault" ability that allows them a small % chance of capturing a world intact (ie. no having to rebuild infastructure), mostly intact (some upgrades lost), or or an ability that aids the fleet in some combat role like using their anti-planet weapons on capital ships or starbases for lots of damage (25+). I think this is easily balanced by their weak armor and low HP.
Then people would spam the ships hoping to get lucky and f
