sorry i meant to write "who consumes more pays more". I had to focus all my concentration on the names :(

Peter pays most, Paddy the least. The TV set and washing machine are totally irrelevant. Its his own decision that he bought them for the common cause if he doesn't want others to use them he can put them into his own room but then he has to wash all his stuff alone (instead of only doing it every 3rd time) and has to watch TV alone instead of enjoying it with the others. Paddies argument that he needs the more comfortable room is total bullshit because he spends his time in the living room w
technically he doesn't really use the ability as he already used it when he acvitvated it and it just keeps running as aura. For the sake of consistency it might be something they could consider to change though. If they change that they also have to deactivate torchbearers aura, sednas aura etc. though if you want it really consistent. I am not sure if that is really worth the effort or auras should just stay active when in orb mode. Wouldn't really call that a bug at all tho
yah I think of the three games (DG, LoL, HoN), HoN definitely is the least noob friendly and most hardcore. I played quite a bit of LoL and most people were pretty nice there - same as for Demigod. HoN caters to the hardcore community the most, so that is to be expected and not a bad thing if you are a seasoned dota players, but for all others I'd recommend Demigod and League of Legends over it.
GunslingerBara, doesn't your rating system keep a more accurate track of the rankings than just full numbers? I would have assumed you have them accurate to like 4 to 10 digits after the comma. In this case the probability that someone has exactly 1000 points would be nearly 0. You could also filter everyone out who hasn't played after the ratings got reset. Or you could just generally place the inactive players (not played for n days) behind the active players. the inac
the damage modifiers of critical hit items are still multiplied if both or all three get triggered at once. So 2x and 4x end up being 8x, instead of the 5x it is supposed to be.
Currency II is useful in 4vs4 or 5vs5 and in some circumstances in 3vs3. But the time til it pays off is quite long. However as there are some Demigods which don't need much money midgame it can be a option.
each tick is actually two seconds. It gives +2 gold/sec.
Haven't played for quite a long time but if I recall correctly a tick is 0.90 seconds not 2 seconds. which means currency gives 4.4 gold / per second per player.
Total capitulation on the defence shield with nothing in return from Russia.
the defence shield was neither targetted at russia, nor capable of doing anything against russia anyways, nor was it good for anything at all except for wasting lots of money. The problem of a nuclear defense is that you must be able to shoot down 100% of the incoming missles in 100% of the cases or it is fail which is a lot more expensive than just building more nukes as countermeasure or tran
random potion drops are stupid?
how are they random? they always drop if you die @Twinsen while it is true that the potion doesnt spawn immediately, ranged chars still often don't want to be where the potion dropped, because usually thats very near the enemy position and you are more vulnerable there as ranged char than as melee char.
A good game should always have several negative feedback loops to keep the game interesting: Warcraft 3 has "upkeep" - the bigger your army, the less gold you get from your gold mine in DotA, the towers get much stronger the nearer you get to the "Citadel" Such negative feedbacks should be a bit stronger in Demigod and removing potions would be a step in the right direction. But what happens with Erebus' Poisoned Blood then?
in dota you even lose a
I guess he left for a new company or something. I never found out. He helped a lot of players in the old days with accounts and connection problems in GPGnet
he is with Sam and Kent @ Quosal (at least I think so, actually I am pretty sure)
ust a small correction, if already owned it won't be destroyed, you just won't be able to pick up.
they fixed that bug then in 1.1 :-)
shadow you need to add a gameaccount (iirc its profile -> gameaccount -> select Demigod.
there is a lot of asian games which does exactly that and it seems to work for them (not speaking about the f2p mmorpgs where you can buy game affecting ingame items, but games like free shooters like Combat Arms)
TB+Any General is my favourite Combo in 2vs2. In my Experience it is the only combo which really is on par with 2 Generals in 2vs2 - Assassins are more useful in 3vs3 or bigger imo.
There are similar statistics for Supreme Commander that are available with much the same behavior.
http://supcomdb.com/stats/ The Ratio of players online / players playing is 2:1 (or 50% of people online (e.g. logged into GPGnet) are playing) in SupCom not 15 to 25% as in Demigod. I
It's interesting to see how people were perfectly willing to use the same data when it was only 1 of the 8 servers to show that the game was "dead" but when we sum the # of users on all the servers it's suddenly impossible. In order to be counted as being online, the user has to logon and their game has to respond every 30 seconds or so to a ping/pong request. When someone logs in, they are assigned to one of the 8 servers. The old stat page had only the server
It is foolish to assume that GPG did it because some random noob players said Erebus was op. The nerfed him because he was op on all skill levels and players who had been around since day 1 of the beta and provided a lot of useful balance feedback during beta agreed that Erebus needed some nerf.
there are 3 resources in Demigod : war score, xp and gold and as long as you are ahead in any of them you still have a small chance to win even if you are very behind in the other 2 resources.
Most game are released as completed titles, now we're changing the game around
Ehm ya, you are right there is almost no multiplayer game who gets balance changes. Except of Demigod and this stupid Blizzard games they were all perfect on release.
visuals work correctly for geforce 6 and 7 now, and valor bug is fixed.
hum, sounds like a very bad side effect of the "valor flag bug" (capping a 2nd valor flag and losing it again used to remove the bonus of your remaining flag as well)... sad panda. (if it is actually true and you didn't make a mistake like not taking into account that you have the 2nd valor flag for some time and the n lost it when you upgraded) edit: I am just ingame, upgraded minion hp level 1 and it increased their hp as intended.
Welcome to the RTS sub-genre known as the Rush RTS. This is why I prefer games like Supreme Commander.
The difference between Starcraft and Supreme Commander is pretty small. The biggest difference is the 100x bigger community size of starcraft and the age which leads to an insane average skill level (so it was no surprise that most of the top supcom players were good starcraft players before) Oh and the biggest difference between real sports and e-sports is tha
Idol summons show damage dealt as floating text. However ability summons (spirits, yettis, etc.) don't.
you see floating text only if 1) you attack a enemy Demigod 2) Damage dealt is higher than a certain threshold
