Stardock really, really, needs to nicely write up this arcane installation procedure and put the instructions on the web page, purchase confirmation page, and in the confermation email.

You get no instructions on the installation process from the web site, confermation email, or Impulse. So it is understandable that you would have problems on the install procedure. If you haven't done it yet, download and intall the Impulse DRM tool and run it. Go to the My Games tab and update the SOASE game to the latest version. At the Impulse little blue logo (top left), right click the mouse and select the add/register new program; and select the first Entr
I have a Visari question. What is the "recall dark fleet" feature do? I manually invoked it but did not see anything happen. What exactly does it do in the game?
The manual is a little vague on many points so really playing any of the factions is a little daunting at first. There a multple wiki pages on SOASE but this one is my favorite. https://www.sinsofasolarempire.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page You can read about the factions in more detail and also see them contrasted in various data tables. I usually play the TEK but just played the sin
A note to game publishers and those interested in the PC gaming community. If a significant portion of the customer community does not like the characteristics of a product; they can and will spend their money elseware. This is the origional point _komoto made to start this post. I had a similar situation with another game. I like the Dawn of War game and expansions so I was looking forward the the release of DOW 2 so I could purchase it. I saw that i
A bit of support for _komoto: Wow; what an emotionally charged issue. But at least _komoto had the decency to present his take on the issue absent personal attacks and name calling. As to the others who took umbridge with _komoto's opinion; it is fine to dissagree but I think it would be far more condusive to a public discourse if all parties dealt with each other in a civil, respectfull manner. Just because the other person is not sitting in a chair three feet away
I can understand not having a manual for the Beta release but not having a manual for the product release; not even one on-line or in a Wiki page is extremely unprofessional. It seems the developers can bang out a nice game but cannot do the professional follow-thouugh with respect to productizing the release. Perhaps the company could hire outside help to release a fancy User's Guide complete with stats table and the like. They could even sell it and make a ton of bucks.</p
A nice, friendly warning explicitly stated about the effect of the updates (even in the release notes) would have been kind and not cost them any money. It seems the vendor has a sharp disdane for or at least little regard for the user community. Pity. The game is servacable and pretty fun to play. The user support is attrocious; again, sad.
