Too action oriented? Rushing is a problem?what
hah yah I felt the same way when I read that. I can't stand people who make games that say NO RUSH. RTS is about strategy, and rushing is a strategy. I don't like long games, (30 mins) is a good time I think, once it gets past 50 mins I don't like it because it feels like I'm wasting my time lol. I usually always rush in any RTS. Well now Dante, its free to even non paying members, so the beta is proba
the beta was a bonus to the addon. u cant just compare the price of the addon with the membership to fp and really not all members of fp got a key
Why can't you? I got in the beta for 5 bucks, you go in the beta for the cost of the expansion. My friend just got a beta key yesterday so unless the beta keys just ran out, its just now starting to fill up. The reason I even brought this up is because the original poster really has no leverage. A user can s
I haven't owned a single C&C game until this beta and I got a KEY for the beta 08-06-08. Some guy on another gaming forum posted the following message on 08-06-08:
Any one on here received the RA3 Beta to play? Cant wait to get home from work and give it a go! As for beta testing, what problems should I be looking for?
I then started doing some research and found out that FilePlanet is ALSO offering beta keys and I heard that the b
ha, that is such a rip off, you can get a beta key from fileplanet for 5 bucks, if you sign up as a member, you #1. get fast downloads and lots of other goodies file planet offers, you also get into the Red ALert 3 beta For Free, first come first serve. My friend just got one a few days ago and the beta has been posted forever ago, so it looks like they are still giving them out. The funny part is, EA told the users who bought the C&C game that FilePlanet users WOULD NOT
well if multiplayer was important to this beta they would have had built in support for multiplayer rather than having to download 3rd party software to simulate LAN games.
I also agree if they did release a map editor it would make the community more strong.
Is it the same version that will be available to us or is the beta the "cut down" version?
Will this game have support for the high end systems? LIke x16 AA etc?
When the date gets closer Someone will post a Hamachi group or something that we can all join and we can chat using the Demigod IRC to set things up. I know TAG won;t have problems finding people to play with.
good idea! that will be fun.
That would be cool but I highly doubt they will do that.
Right but the MOD is technically blizzards even though Ice frog came up with the idea. I thought it worked like a contract. Example, even though I came up with a patent, it was my idea, but I was working with IBM, its now theirs more than it is mine. I'm the inventor, but they are the ones making money off it and its their intellectual property. I guess its all in the fine print of bilzzard's copyright information. Depending on how they wrote it up, they might not also own t
Because blizzard owns DoTA are they pissed that you made a game similar to DoTA? is there any type of legal issues there?
ha, good to see you Lord! I'll see ya when we can play multiplayer
This brings up an interesting question, will you get more beta results by making the game less fun to play or would you have gotten more results by making it fun enough to keep peoples attention? When people are tempted with other games such as spore and things like school its even less likely for them to spend hours testing a game that isn't enjoyable to test. I'm a software engineer and I realize software isn't "fun" to test but games can be different where application software can't :P
How long is beta 1 for?
For once being unemployed is a boon! >.>(as an aside, is GPG looking for a talented programmer?)
hah, sounds kind of fishy....an unemployed talented programmer. :P I know a ton of people got laid off at IBM so the new interns who are graduating soon(me) can get job offers. But I don't like that mind set in a company. Out with the old, in with the new I guess. I'm not sure how gaming companies are but I hope they are more loyal to their programmers. I
They should have an online board that shows the user and how many bugs they posted, that way users will know their bugs are getting looked at, it will also make people want to find bugs more I think. Something about visuals makes people try harder. It wouldn't be hard to code, make some co-op (if you have any) do it :P
As long as its from their website your suppose to be able to get into the beta. Also they said there would be a limited on the number of pre-orders allowed into the beta. But they havn't announced its been full yet. But if you think about it, why would they? If they announce the beta is full everyone will stop pre-ordering. So who knows if its still open or closed but I'm pretty sure the beta isn't full yet. So make sure you pre-order from stardocks website. <br
Oh I didn't realize they knew for so long. Either way, nothing we can do will make them release the beta earlier, its in their hands.
They should still have a reason for delaying it other than "because we can"
Um..their lead designer left the team a few days ago to go to a new opportunity. That's a pretty good reason to delay a game/beta if the main guy you depend on leaves the company.
So if we pre-order (I did) are we automatically in ALL the betas or just the first phase (august)?
I can't wait! I pre-ordered about 2 weeks ago and Yes I agree with Annatar.
