Today in an already screwed up game hosted by {SB}=>Ferdie, on a random huge single...just as everyone greened, the host (Ferdie) kicked 1 player from game then hit start button (before anyone could ungreen). The player (not on Ferdie's team) was one of the 2 skilled players on the other (not Ferdie's) team. The result was a stacked game, that in my opinion is worse than any smurfing or afking. DEVs ...is there

Ground to space weapons argument aside... How about a planetary based sheild generator instead of the one we have now? And planetary strike craft hangers? Orbital hangers could be much faster to throw out a reaction to a provokation, but the planet itself could support vastly larger number of squadrons than orbital hangers. Not to mention the orbital hangers would be more expensive... THOUHTS??? OK this is slightly off-topic but one thing about sc. Why not

Hey RA...dont know if this was talked about or not but i read through the post and saw nothing about gaurdians... Are you atleast contemplating fixing/nerfing repulse? my suggestion is to make repulse not aoe. and buff the cost (antimatter). so only push one ship at atime per gaurdian (cannot push caps) but it costs less AM to do so...

I recently had an unpleasant experiance involving my lvl 7 marza and a couple of gaurdians. My fleet and my opponents fleet were battling it out...my lvl 7 marza had just gotten enough anti-matter to use missle barrage. I was keeping it at the other side of the grav well just farming xp and keeping it healthy. When it got enough am to use mb i moved it towards the battle to get mb into range. Once i got it into range i used mb then ordered it to retreat away from the battle. At this p

Ive just recently and successfully used scouts (TEC) to crush an advent player using lums in IC. :D Two of those resulted in a pissed off opponent who just commented on me scout spamming and quit before i was even 3 jumps from his HW. lol All three times i used timed explosives to knock out labs/ factoreis and repair bays, and all three times that sent him running.. YAY i thank you <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl07__LinkUser" class="hand" t

ive never had a problem finding a game or having people join my hosted one. I usualy play 2-3 games saturday afternoon (US Eastern time) and they typicaly last from 20-90 minutes. Its very annoying though when players quit early and leave their allies out to dry.

I LOVE TEC SCOUTS ----timed explosives are so soo much fun to use on those precious labs and factories But if im TEC im going to start immidiatly building scouts. If i see my opponent going LRF heavy then i get 30-even 50 scouts (if hes advent then i especialy need alot of them early). Then i get my own LRF at this point for a multitude of reasons (they counter the scouts counter, they kill caps, and buildings...) if i see he is getting alot of flak (advent usualy will) and/or carrier
And and with scouts? I saw a couple of well placed mines reduce an army of 275 scouts to 77. I think they're vastly under rated by a lot of people.
Mines or scouts are underrated? And i would loved to have seen (and laughed my *** off at) the player making the blunder of diving scouts into mines. lol lol You do need scouts however to detect the mines so they and other ships can destroy them before they destroy you
7) Sins of a Solar Empire with Entrenchment Also a semi-RTS that is amazing.
jus wondering how sins is a 'semi' rts...?

I always start immedialty building scouts in MP. If after scouting i see my opponent is LRF rushing (any race) i continue building scouts. Like 30-40. Then i anticipate the counter and either build LFs (flak) or my own LRFs (LFs). Scouts counter all LRFs hard. lums included. and flak dont counter scouts hard enough for me to worry about losing to many too fast to not get his LRFs. This works people...RA is right. Ive been realizing this through my own personal experiance onlin

Total Annihilation absolutely revelutionized RTS. A game that 12 years later is still being played and modded by thousands. Hundreds and hundreds of user created units, structures and maps. No RTS ive ever played featured battles so intense and hectic. There was no organization, just mass destruction and chaos. Total Annihilation. The engine was amazing too as almost any pc could play huge games w/out lag. Sins of a Solar Empire also features an amazing engine. My pc ca

A SB with max-SC upgrades will rip into any fleet and knock out atleast a cap or two before they get through. Build a phase inhibiter and some more SC hangers and see how that fleet thats trying to run through does. The thought of choke points in space is completely ridiculous. How stupid...all the vastness and you have to go through a tiny 'hole' to get to your opponents planets... I would hate that A SB should be able to protect A planet but not several. You either

Pirating and sending donations to the band may make you feel better but what your doing is still illegal (as is speeding). lol. The band will never know what your doing unless you tell tham and that would be idiotic. So pirate away and forget those donations Me...i cannot afford buying cds (10-15$ a pop * 100+ cds will break you eventauly unless of course money is not an issue) However bands that i really like that release albums that i really like i will buy them

noone is really worried about 1v1s. Get into a battle against a dozen or more and you will see the illums overpowerness. Illums can just sail around blasting everthing relentlessly (sidebeams, instant hit, fire while moving...) Honestly ive never seen a human player (other than noobs) not rush and spam illums. It is really boring i think to play as advent and to play against advent is dull too, and frustating as you know exactly whats coming and yet its difficult to beat unles

heres my idea though: When SC are in hold position, damage percentages (against said SC verylight armour) for all weapon types should go up (becuase the SC are not skirting around they should be easier to kill)

One of my personal fav tech starts: build cap factory (que marza) crystal ext 2-3 scouts +2 LFs +colony frig (send the colony and LFs to 1st asteroid) civic lab 2 metal ext (scuttle cap factory after 1st cap) send marza to meatier planet (desert/terran) the LFs and colony can handle the first asteroid atleast (do research 1 point for terran pop upgrade and 2 points for cheaper extractors) build 2 mil labs (re
Thanks Derek, that was really insightful. I'm getting two conflicting opinions here though. Amish says that I will never outdo illums with Javeli, so I should just pump out 100 scouts in response to the illum threat, Derek says I should forget about flak and hoshis in lew of pumping out many more javeli until later on. I'm assuming there is some sort of middle ground here I'm missing due to lack of experience. Do
