The city states feature in Civ V is vastly different than the minor races feature in this game. Minor races in Gal Civ are just other opponents who are not as threatening and who can trade with the player, but that's it. The city states are a core change in how Civ plays - you trade with them or go to war with or over them, and receive very significant benefits from them, and everything they do or offer is tied up into other game mechanics (social policies, unique civ features, e

I love GalCiv II but I'm sad to say that from all the gameplay of the alpha and even your list of changes from each version is confirming my worry that III is not really that big of an update. Heck, you guys are even using the same old logos and opponent civs from the last game. Two of the bigger changes mentioned are strategic resources and the ideology tree, but even these are just rehashed features from games like Civ V. Why were strategic resources not in the last version for that mat
In the Spell of Making victory or whatever it's called, when you add one of the spell buildings to a city queue but then remove it, you don't get a refund on all your gildar, crystal, etc. I assume this is a bug as you get refunded on everything else. It also says the final spell costs 25 seasons to build, but it actually only takes 10 seasons. Also, I think the Wither spell is a bit too powerful. Suggest it cost more mana or its power be reduced some.Or, don't allow
what does this application do or how do I use it? I installed it and nothing happened - there is no program to open... or does it just work in the background somehow? thanks for your help I also now have a new problem since yesterday: the planets and ships don't appear on the main interface, just little icons. this is sad that a 2-year old game is tripping up my powerful new computer which runs every other game beautifully... pls help!
Also when I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, now on the main menu the button for Tutorials is grayed out and I can't use it.
Hey I installed this game and am also having problems which I think we reported when this game first came out a couple years ago, ie, that the planets are spinning wildly on the information screens and eventually when playing and scrolling to the edge of the screen, the game freaks out and the camera shoots around in space. I have a dual core AMD with the latest video drivers for a NVIDIA 9500 GT card and my machine is very powerful for all other games. Is there anything else I can do
thanks!
this is exactly the problem I posted about today - except I get the blue background space color every time I load any saved game. I seem to get it no matter how or what procedures I use to save the game and exit Sins - every time, always the blue. It seems the newest patch has not addressed this, if you guys at Stardock cannot reproduce this, right?
is anyone having the problem where you load up a saved game and it does not retain the background color from your game settings when you set up the game? I thought the patch list addressed this but it does not seem to have any affect on my game this way. really annoying, seems like a strange bug to have slipped through. every time you load a saved game you are stuck with some new colored space background and using the options menu does not fix it. in fact I am finding post-patc
ok I have a question about finding a ship and going right to it - I like the Search button but it doesn't zoom you to the ship when you click it, does it? It seems when I am zoomed way out and I click to find a colony ship, for example, I get the voice response and the unit is "selected" but I can't see where it physically is on the map. Do I need to be zoomed way in to see it selected? Also if you have several colony ships how do you cycle through finding each one in a simi
I've just started playing this game and notice that curiously, when you first start a game the background of deep space (zooming out) is black. But later when I load a saved game, the entire space background will be this blue or sometimes red-orange color, very vibrant and neat but I actually prefer that more black color of space at the farther zoom levels. I can't figure out if this is some kind of technical glitch or just a game feature, and I can't understand the pattern of whe
