It doesn't work that way. Words are what you go by. "Spirit" of anything isn't a tangible thing you can hang on to to argue, or prove right or wrong, and again is interpretation by the reader which may not be shared by the writer.
Interpretation of something written is hardly as dismissable as you seem to think. What do you think judges do all day? They interpret laws, what their meaning and intent is and then decide whether or not they apply to a given
I'm sorry but no, this is interpretation and while it is one with some merit (meaning, I can understand the reasoning), that's not what I asked the poster for and it certainly doesn't say Stardock doesn't use DRM.
Personally, I think you're hanging on the actual words "we don't use DRM" versus the spirit of what they've said but you are, of course, entitled to your own opinion. In truth, I don't expect to change anyone's opinion but I do feel that there are some v

Actually, I had thought about doing torrent alternatives. Unfortunately, my DSL service doesn't give me much of an upload speed so acting as a seed would be extremely slow on my end. If I had the upload bandwidth I'd just set up my own web server and host it myself since I already have the infrastructure already in place more or less. -dolynick
Getting back to asking questions, have you tried the Cheating Stick in NWN1?(you can only get it by going into debug mode and entering something along the lines of 'dm_cheatstick') Also, have you played the Witcher? I found it hard to believe they used a modified version of the NWN1 engine. If you have played it, what did you think of the comat in it?(I got the Witcher from Impulse last fall when they had that survey discount code, currently have 40+ hours played and only ju
Also, you CAN make other weapons bypass shields. I have done in it the latest version of 7DS. The Atlantians have BEAMS that punch right through shields with the proper reasearch, and the TCA have shiled piercing GAUSS railguns that also penetrate shields with research. These both get through ANY mitigation, so a ship with 100% mititgation (invincible) will still get hurt through shield piercing weapons. The thing you need to do is associate the weapon type with the shield piercing res
I have a small question. What changes in game version (1.15 to 1.16) makes mod nonusable? In 1.16 game don't see folder with your mod. How could someone help you? Hmm... another question (because i didn't read all pages - my ignorance): Are you planning adding some new races or unite your mod with stargate invasion?
I actually haven't tried SGRaces-1.151 on Sins 1.16 yet so I'm not sure.
Dolynick, Danman have wrote that he was ready to host other mod on his own server... maybe you can contact him...
I saw that and that could be an option still on the table. I'd use MediaFire but unless I pay a fee a couple of the mods exceed the 100MB limit. I'm currently looking at badongo.com which seems to fit the bill but is a little ad heavy and countdown timers on downloads. :/ -dolynick
MODELS- the 3D models, or meshes, can only have a maximum of 10 emitters for any particular weapon, engine, etc., or the game will crash. There is a goal of under 10k polys, or the game will start to slow down.
Actually Dan, I don't think that is correct. I have a couple custom ships that have up to 16 weapons-1 mesh points and they work fine. They are not all facing the same direction though so maybe that has something do with it. Yes, it's easy to reuse the basic ones. I'm only interested because I would like to add the ability to bypass shields ala phase missiles to a different weapon type and would rather not have it display in the stats as "phase missile" damage. More specifically, the modifier ChanceToIgnoreShieldsAsDamageDealer only appears to work on weapons of type PHASE MISSILE. It doesn't have any effect on a ship with other types of weapons. You're most likely right though.

I've got a question :) I haven't been able to find a way to do this yet but maybe I'm just missing something obvious... How do you add a new weapon type? There are the pre-built weapons such as BEAM, MISSILE, PHASE MISSILE, LASERTECH, etc but is there any place where we can specify and create a new custom type? -dolynick

The one problem with this is they cant protect gravity wells very good against bombarment. Other wise it is just too easy to avoid asguard defenses. Also in gene

Except that MediaFire has a size limit of 100MB per file unless you actually pay monthly. That's big enough for many mods but not for all. I was looking at Nakido today as an alternative. Unlimitted storage and filesize, plus they never remove your files do to a lack of activity over a given period of time like most others (filefront included) do. I don't know if it was just me though, but unfortunately the download speed from Nakido appears to be rather slow.

The alpha channel in the cl.dds is either missing or all white. If it's missing, somewhere along the line it gets automatically filled in/read as being all white. That will cause your model to glow solid in your teams color once in game. To fix it, simply add an alpha chanel and have at least 1 pixel non-black in it. I've seen all black alpha channels seen as not being there before (and hence you get the all white fill in) and having even a single pixel anywhere in t

Yes, developing a patch does cost money. I'm not disputing that. It costs them virtually nothing to take that patch content and simply zip it up in a standalone patch afterwards though. Yes, it takes more bandwidth to serve the standalone patch but Impulse would remain the primary patch tool and mainly only those looking to roll back (a very small minority I'd bet) would need to download the standalone patches. Be it through Impulse or a standalone download version, we

His whole point is that he shouldn't be reliant on the mothership to be able to use (or in this case, get it to work)something that he's bought and paid for. A point that I happen to agree with and the major reason why I'm not all that hot on Impulse myself. It's not about piracy or the moral issues regarding that. This particular situation would be largely mitigated if Ironclad simply made standalone patch downloads also available by other means. It would still make

You know, there is such a thing as accessibility being an issue as well. Rar and particularly Zip are far more likely to be extractable for any given user without them having to hunt down 7z. The majority of users on this forum (or any forum) are most often not the type of people who always have that kind of software installed. In all honesty, I already do enough support with people for my mod(s) in regards to installation and various troubleshooting that I'm not keen on hav

It should fire forward with slightly increased range as it's main firing range but it should be able to saturate an area/target with missles in front of it rather than around it.
