The update list ( https://forums.galciv2.com/329116/ ) says there's a new manual for TA. Does anyone know where to find it? I'm on Vista. I'm kind of an RTFM kinda guy. I've updated DL, DA and TA using Impulse. I got them electronically originally. If I start DL or DA I get the old menu systems with the 'Manual' buttons, but they're the old manuals. I don't get a menu thingy for TA; it just launches into the main game. Any clues?

My computer is toast. Graphics card fried, motherboard... It was a Dell and they don't supply the spec. anymore. Well, you get the message. The machine had my only copy of GCII on it. Fortunately my email's all in Exchange elsewhere on the net, so I haven't lost my GCII serial numbers. They're somewhere. To add to the trickiness of the problem the old machine is XP and a new one would have to be Vista (gnash, gnash). Is it possible to reinstall on the as-yet theoretical new laptop usi

Me too. There was an ancient civilisation anomoly at 1,3. Used constructors to build a chain of constructors through Korx space. Brought a survey ship there. Brought the battleship thingee there too. Nada. Some searches on internet turn up answers like ensure you're at 1,3. Have tried 1,3 and 3,1... Nada. I didn't bring the initial colony ship - used that on some planet close by. Is that what you're meant to bring maybe?

On Beginner (that's me!) I did an intial colony rush, built up the economy etc., then fended off the occasional DL nasty. Then invaded the two Korash (?)planets closest. Then brought mass driver-equipped cruisers and about 10 or so missile boats. Took out the DL escort eventually. Then saved game, used mass drivers and 6 troop transports, and got a good throw.
