I haven't tested it, but maybe that means 2v2 and 2 observers or 5v5 and 2 observers?

wait wait WAIT. I thought this was for Beta 2? Beta 2 isn't out yet! I demand a recount!
[quote who="Ke5trel" reply="13" id="1919097"] The flip side of this is that for balancing purposes maybe there should be a big debuff on minions too far from their general, so that they are ridiculously easy to kill - that way they are good for capping and recon but not much else. My reasoning is that if you allowed minions too much power away from their generals then you have a nightmare swarm of minions cleaning up while their five generals sit comfortably in the base...This can
Yeah, I was like uh... I don't remember replying to this. When I got here I had a pretty good chuckle.
I think he was so excited, something inside him just... snapped!
Honestly, I don't think Generic creeps should be controllable unless generals can build specific generic creeps. and then those specific generic creeps should only be controlable by whoever built them. And Iprometheus, he's saying he wants a balance. I think maybe what he could mean, or at least what I think would be awesome, is that you can either send them to specific targets and do whatever you want with them, OR you can set them to do what they wish so you can focus on your genera
I still like the idea of having squads like in Dawn of War. Less micro management so that you can use both your general and the squad. Still gives you 2 things to balance between tho. That's why I originally thought the Generals were going to stay in the base. Now that I think about it though, that would get pretty boring if your creeps happened to get slaughtered right after spawning, and you having to wait before you can send out new units.
I'm not saying there aren't reasons to think it might be this way, but no one has come out and said it definitely will be, and that seems to be your tone of voice. Supcom engine? Alright... What does that have to do with not being able to control units? As you say, assassins are the the only ones in the beta. Even less evidence to say what is true/false about them. Major redesign. They needed balancing. Note: The entire game is going throught redesigns. That's why its
Iprometheus, I want to know where you are getting your information. Your posts seem to sound like you are 100% sure of everything you say, almost as if you were designing the game yourseld, yet I don't see where you are getting your evidence. Maybe I'm just optimistic, but I feel that in the Mike Marr interview he was referring to current creeps, and not those of generals. For someone who says he loves RTS so much, you seem to really thrive on idea that they aren't implementing it. Let me kno
who says creeps can't go back to the health crystal?
I think the General MUST have control over its creeps, but I think that having a squad is a great alternative to sending out individual units. My initial idea about the general was actually that the general never left the base, but sent out creeps. While his creeps were sent out, they'd gain the xp for him, and while the general can't die, having all his minions dead would stop him from recieving gold/xp. If the creeps were sent out as a squad, then when the squad dies, the killer could recie
He is only supporting the RPG side because so far, that's all that there is. Its hard to support something that can't be tested out yet. While he said click-fest, he did not relate that to RTS at all. He also said to HIM, Demigod v. Demigod was his favorite experience. He was stating an opinion. When you play, you can say that to YOU, the RTS aspect is your favorite experience. Both of you will be correct, because it is an opinion.
First of all, who is saying everyone is RPG? I'm totally waiting for the RTS. I can't WAIT for the General. I've been looking forward to the general since I first heard of the idea of the game. It's just that we all (and since there were multiple of us, there's probably some truth to it, but heck what do I know.) felt you misunderstood what the article was saying, and we wanted to help you understand what was going on. Just trying to help you, that's all. I don't get why defending the
Well I definitely wouldn't want the strat icons to be there all the time, if that's what you thought I meant. I was thinking they would only show up if you zoomed out with the strat zoom. but you are right, there should be something to differentiate them at all times as well.
I Disagree! Sometimes I can't tell what team a specific demigod is on. Having a strat icon with a specific team color would help me a great deal. Also, for Regulas it would help me differentiate him from the creeps. Both those things would really help me.
October 18! Oh, what we think it will ACTUALLY be? I'm thinking mid-late Nevember... so lets say November 20 cuz it's another Thursday.
1) he said demigod is CURRENTLY not a click-fest. And adding RTS with generals won't make it a click-fest either... 2) note the first part of the second quote you copied: "To ME , the EXPERIENCE is best when..." He didn't say anything about victory, or winning, or being ranked #1. And actually, fighting other Demigods and getting your sco
Some Dev, I believe Frogboy, said it was coming in a few weeks. Hopefully that's less then 2 months, and even more hopeful, within the next month.
Horse Radish... they way you are asking us to prove that the game will have generals is like asking us to prove that the game is still going to be released. Things can always change. I mean prove to me that you are going to wake up at a certain time tomorrow. You might. OR you might sleep through the alarm, your alarm might run out of batteries, or you might have a snow day (in the middle of summer, I know) at your school and have the day off, so you don't need to wake up early. A million dif
The Pantheon sounds like an AMAZING single player. I am EXTREMELY excited about trying it out!
I REALLY like that ad. It catches your attention with the giant castle man, and has pictures of a new map :-P As for Beta 2... EXCITING!
[quote who="Annatar11" reply="5" id="1906401"] Quoting ToxDrawace, reply 1 Professional voice actors! Funny story.. Sins of a Solar Empire featured professional voice actors, but just that fact doesn't always make it likeable to everyone. Case in point? A guy with a forum nick "Starscream" was complaining about a Vasari dialogue that was voiced by the same actor who did Starscream in the Transformers movie. Delicious irony
Professional voice actors!
I think he meant the creeps that are spawned are not influenced byt the player, but generals will have their own to use. Or maybe that's wishful thinking...
Yeah, what is this nonsense about no generals? the fact that there are " demigods that focus on buffing and protecting their team-mates, shielding them from harm and empowering them to deal even greater devastation. " makes me think that they also provide bonuses to creeps, very "general-like" abilities. Just because they didn't specifically didn't mention Generals, doesn't mean there won't be any. They didn't mention anything about t
