I, for one, am happy with things thus far.
No one may be forcing him, but the idea that he paid for a (partially) broken game may compel him to stay and voice his complaints. It may seem quite simple to you, being that you're happy with it, but alot of folks are not happy with it - is that not obvious? <

I don't want to flush this product down the proverbial toilet just a few scant months after I purchase it.
How does that help the Demigod community? It doesn't, and all it does do is sew the seeds of even more negativity.
Again with the helping. I'm not here to help the community, I'm here to play a game I enjoy and would rather not see die a slow death at the hands of lax development and poor initial planning.
This game may not be perfect, but we like it, and do not want to see it abandoned
i just fail to see how singing the praises of other games is going to help the Dg community.
Why must a post help (read: praise?) the community? Actually, I wish I had read the negative posts before buying the product. While I'm not crazy about modding anyways, the lack of mapmaker/community-made maps probably would have been a dealbreaker, in hindsight. I honestly didn't consider looking for
Being a new player, I cannot comment on past patches/performance issues, so I'll stick to what I've learned after 2 days with the demo and 4 days with the full bird. Performance is perfect on my not-quite-new e6750 rig, playing 3-4 players over Impulse. (Most of us, however, have 20 megabit upstreams, with one guy having a 2MB.) We all have dual core rigs or better with a variety of video cards from 8800GTs to GTX280s. Our main concern is that in the several months
For the two guys above this post IMPULSE HAS AN ARCHIVE FEATURE - IT ALLOWS YOU TO ARCHIVE AN INSTALL!!! This means you can store a copy for later installation - the only issue is that the achive file is larger then a patch, but it sounds like the first guy has the disk to spare....
I'm aware of that fact, but if I don't have an archive of the game from 1.15, I'm forced to have 1.16. I cannot choose w
I, for one, don't want to see a bunch of bonuses get handed out. I like the rather delicate balance in this game, one reason I choose to play it, buy expansions, and play it some more. The difference generated by a 10% bonus can be decisive in this game, and that is pleasing to me.
When Impulse was announced as the future direction for distribution, I kept my peace. I didn't like it - no sir. I have a multi-terabyte library that I keep all of my patches and whatnot on, because I've been there - my internet is out for a week due to bad weather/act of God, and I need to install a game, patch it, and play it, to keep sane. I wasn't going to be able to do that anymore, and I was pissed - but so were others. I let them do the ranting and raving to whi
I'd like to be able to turn off AI surrender. It happens to me all the damn time. Very annoying.
Another vote for this. Give us the option to disable surrender. Cool for some people, not for me. I'm tired of taking AI #1's homeworld only to have #2 throw in the towel with them when their combined might is still greater than mine.
Send an email to , and include your name, the original email address, and the address you want your products to show as registered to. It took them perhaps 5 minutes from the time I sent the email to get mine straightened out. I dislike having to email anyone to fix such a simple thing as my email addresses, but whatever. It was quick, easy, and relatively pain-free.
Just to add to it, having played in several 6+ hour games in the last two days since acquiring the expansion, I have to say that the defense buildup for Unfair AI is pathetic. They place their starbases quite poorly, and too often they have little to nothing backing it up. Prior to the expansion, the harder AIs were quite difficult for me to defeat. Right now, I feel as though I could take 3 of them on at once, and win. Their fleets are actually used effectivel
I have never had issues with capital ships running into other objects until starbases came along. Having just played all day yesterday with the new expansion, I noticed it happening frequently, as did the friend with whom I was gaming.
