Yeah, you take a level 4 Akkan, with research complete in both Civics and Military, you can actually outlast and outgun the Kortuls, provided they don't activate their special abilities. Just keep Ion bolt going and have a wing of bombers. If anyone can refute this, please tell me. I found this very interesting and was going to post on the forums for more comments.
I started playing just before the NGE (big combat revamp, dunno if you guys remember the CU). Frankly, its hard to form an opinion, because my time swings between hard-core playing and just chilling with friends at the guild hall. They are introducing some updates to the game engine in the coming months, and the recent merger (can't remember with who) brought in some new dev blood. I know some vets who are coming back with a sour taste in their mouth are actually enjoying the new instances.</

Best Game Ever Award goes to Freespace 2, HANDS DOWN! Yeah, I immediately thought of FS and FS2 upon starting this game. I hope this game is mod-dable, I can't seem to get the right effect from turning a TurboLaser in Star Wars Empire at War into a BFGreen on a Hecate-templated Mon Cal Cruiser. If you could make the Akkan BC into an Orion and the Kol BttleS into a Hecate, you'd be set. I just can't get the hang of it, but I'd LOVE a FreeSpace2 RTS mod.
