I will be able to say that for 5, since you want the answer now, each character slot has a different color, and each demigod has that color displayed somehow somewhere. Other than that you really can't tell a difference, but the colors do stand out.
they said they knew there were a lot of problems with this beta, they just needed to test one thing and then we'll get a new one soon and by soon I mean REALLY soon
It's not ready anyway, mines are still op, starbases are still up, and there are a couple glitches that would make me incredibly mad if I didn't know this was a beta

if you hit alt f4 and choose no you'll be able to see your mouse again
I was going to plant the banner while playing as Oak when a desync box comes up, which was annoyingly coming up for a while, only this time my mouse disappeared and I couldn't click it. The box also over rode hot key commands and the options screen so I was just stuck for the rest of the game. [UPDATE] It would let me move the camera with the directional buttons and asdw. I was also able to get my mouse back by hitting alt + f4 and saying no.
Maybe they could even let us choose our skills or items if we have extra points or favor, or is that going too far? That's still a good idea though.
I actually hate how Regulus is always attacking my citadel and doing decent damage about 10sec into the game
I've actually had that problem with all capital ships of all factions, just a bit more of micromanaging for us for now, but it should be fixed before retail.

I agree to a point. The game is not unplayable, but there should be a dedicated minesweeping unit. The only problem balance wise I've had with mines is that I take 3 drone hosts completely equipped with mines, fly up to a starbase (which isn't as suicide as it seems), and undock all of my mine layers. As soon as my mines are out they instantly explode and leave the Star base with less than 100 hull left. It's also extremely easy to use that technique on capital ships, only you can lay the min
