@Rezo: Cleansing Brilliance's graphic is not a projectile. The computer literally draws a line between two points (the barrel and the target) and it hits its target instantly. All beams perform in this way, the only difference is that CB is one of the most awesome abilities in the game... As far as the weapons go, you can have a heavy laser and autocannon on the same side. I also was thinking that the laser could be fired from the same place as the cannon, bu

@Darvin: Oh how I wish the emoticons were working now... There is no way I can express how awesome those are!!! @JJ: Uh... the whole point of these was to create a purpose for the wave cannon. By creating a purpose, people will buy it which will in turn improve the Enforcer... Back to Darvin: In case I didn't make myself clear earlier, I love those ships... I also have an idea for the Jakosul's ability..

True... Artillery would work. And it does fit the bill... LRM's are snipers, Artillery Cruisers are.. well.. artillery... But you are correct.. Unless their light attack has a comparable range, it would make a big difference. I guess if their main attack was very small (say 5-6) it would work. After all, it wouldn't need any more high damage as it would already deal massive DoT damage inside its AoE...

Is there an option to adjust one side while simultaneously adjusting the other? I'm sure this is around somewhere, but I can't figure out where which is making my job of making this ship symmetrical very difficult...

That could be done... Perhaps have it carry light weapons but have an ability that is a long range version of Rad Bomb. Very little direct damage, but by having a range of 7000, you could still hit a guardian. It would deal about 2 DPS and would stack. If you fired multiple at once, you could have 30 DPS dealt to each enemy within a radius of 1000 or so... This would work well... [e digicons][/e] What about name? Demolition Cruiserr?

The way the code is written, you cannot make two of the same type of weapon with different damages. In other words, you can't have a heavy laser and a light laser that aim forward... You CAN have a heavy laser and a light AC though... Well, cleansing brilliance is a glowing line... That is all it is... All beams behave in this way, but this is NOT a beam. This is a projectile weapon As such, when looking at the code, you will see.. we

Yeah... I am actually what one could call an artist (for whatever reason, it runs in my family), and yet I am horrible at GIMP and Photoshop. If I had a pad, I would be fine (or I could steal my brother's, but he lives about 300 miles away...) but seeing as how I don't, I can't skin worth anything. I just can't draw with a mouse... Its just weird feeling...

Its fine and thank you, but here is my logic... Prime Cannon=railgun. There is no "railgun" type weapon, so the closest thing as far as graphics goes is a laser. Because you can't have two different weapon damage on one side of a ship, they must be a different weapon type. I chose autocannons because I didn't want to use missiles (they are on the Gartel). The flanking cannons ought to be the same as the front because I said so... [e digic

Well, I was thinking about a LRC (long range cruiser) but that would be so overpowered, that it wouldn't even be funny... I am thinking though that a second heavy cruiser might be good... Perhaps you could call it an "assault cruiser." You could give it planet bombing as well as good anti-ship weapons. So, here's some general stuff... Well, back in vanilla, the illuminators were just like every other LRF. Nothing special, but at 1.05 I believe is when they were changed to become destroyers. I'm pretty sure it was intentional and after all, amish did find multiple ways to beat an illum spam. I personally don't like the idea of a spam, but when I get rushed, sometimes I have to spam illums and guardians to stay alive. By the time I go on the offensive, I have a synergized fleet with just about every
... thanks for pointing me in the right direction with your COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY SARCASM! [e digicons]XO[/e]
Hissy fit? lol. Anyways, I don't think it'll be all that much of a problem... And for the record, that isn't how I play... I just use the egg like any other colonizing cap ship... It is good for terran worlds though as it can destroy those pesky

OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay... that does make a difference... Perhaps with the beam weapons though, you could just make it so that they get a buff of 130% damage. This would negate the ability of everything else to target twice. This way you could make it look correct and still give a buff. This would work wonders on the Kol though... Its combination of beams and batteries would help. In short, I now like this idea... [e digicons]:gr

That is true. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned earlier... When being fired at by something that doesn't get a buff against them reintegration becomes more effective as they lose health more slowly Perhaps a better test would be HC's, LF's, and LRF's... Using equal fleet supplies, one could determine how this would affect battles more effectively. I would not recommend support cruisers or caps as the abilities could have enormous sways on the

I understand your logic here, and for the Kortul it would look fine (though would make it far weaker because its pulse beams would be just barely above 12.5 DPS), but for the Radiance which has two parallel beams, it would look weird as you have to face your opponent to fire them. The same applies to the linked beams on the Kol. The beams focus on one single target and each one does about 4 DPS at level 1 and only about 12 at level 10... They are best together. If you

Yeah... just a bit... you know... only three sovas and three allied halcyons in one grav well... no biggy... just a 90% damage buff and a +9 armor buff... Nothing special... Really, I think that if they were to encompass the entire gravity well, The buff must be lessened and must not stack, but rather it goes to the highest value...

It very well could be because unlike the other races' caps which are self-reliant, the Advent caps must synergize to stay alive in large battles. To balance this out, the frigates are made to act idependently...

16 Replies 54,692 Views

No... Every HC has projectile weapons... A pulse beam would be cool and sense it is on the capitals and this thing is halfway to that point, it would make sense... Then again, the wave guns are pretty much useless... Really I think bringin over some other ship to wave cannons such as the support cruisers... That way, you get more use out of the upgrades...

[e digicons]8(|[/e] Uh... you do realize how big of a difference 30% will make if you buff 50 squads... That is already enough to take out a high level cap in one volley (lest it be a Kol or Halcyon). You add that massive buff on there and you just nuked the field... If you make the buffs stack... Hehehe... 60%/90%/120% damage increase does not equal good... [e digicons]:S[/e] Anyways, I do like your idea of rapic manufactur

42 Replies 51,862 Views

Hmm... I suppose the abilities would be nice... Starbases are pretty close to being a fleet themselves, so that would make sense. Now, what exactly do you mean by "stops passive reintegration?" Do you mean the thing skirmishers and eforcers have? That seems a little too specific...
