I don't know... It just seems that it doesn't have much of a punch... The Vasari one however is good, it managed to take out a scout as it was passing through and at full speed. But I guess I don't see the beam and gauss doing all that much. Sure, they may be low on you "kill list" but shouldn't they be at the top? In every other game, stationary turrets can smash you if you aren't careful, so why are they not here? If they got a damage boost or some upgrade that incre
Volt_Cruelerz
Yeah... Uh you have to actively go out and do it otherwise, you'll never get the animosity/vengeance combo...
So... that gives us Sins: Entrenchment Sins: Alliance (diplomacy) Sins: But at any rate, you would not want a capturable turret, but I could see a frig factory...
uh... ok.. let's see those results... And besides, there is already a yay/nay thread which is essentially a master balancing thread, but anyways... Let's see that data...
Well, I've played many games, but in none of them have these platforms (unless playing as vasari) do anything. The Beam and Gauss turrets just don't seem to make that much of an affect. The things are weak as they don't have shields or mitigation, but also they don't do the damage needed. Am I the only one that feels this way or no?
You must download "Forge Tools" which will give you the text file equivalents. What you are looking at is your computer's attempt to decrypt binary.
Uhhh... I can try it... I've never heard of that, but if it does, I'll make sure to tell you...
You win when you defeat all enemy planets. The reason is that they have more broadcast centers than you and as such, they are able to overwhelm yours. And yes... I am assuming that you are playing as the TEC, so I recommend spamming the trading post as doing so (combined with the cheapo upgrade in the civilian tree) will give you almost unlimited credits...
So, its basically a capturable trading post...
That is what I meant... I was just really tired and didn't feel like typing that much last night...
Ehh.. I'd say stick with the current system...
Actually, no... I don't have entrenchment... Besides I think its weird when the Kol is firing forward guns at something that is 89.9 degrees to its right... it just looks stupid...
Uhhh... no. That would look fine with projectile weapons and maybe a pulse beam, but not on beams... Beams would just look strange...
As far as aiming goes, you do realize that things like the Kol can aim at more than four targets at once right? Just saying... And yes, the vasari and TEC carriers need a SC buff... Most likely though it would be best to have a researchable that increases numbers...
Really, the only way that heavy SC would work as an AoE would be to have it so large that it encompasses the entire gravity well.. The problem there is what happens when two sovas are in the same grav well... Seriously though, we already have too many threads like this... we need to let some of them die so that others live. People won't go for an idea that is spammed. Besides, in the Yay/Nay thread, unless I am mistaken, carriers are covered so I sugge
As far as planets go, aquatic ones would be cool... Uh... Terran planets are by default jungle planets... That is why they are green... As for the titan ships, check my Olympus Mod... (first one to ever come up with the idea) The other factors here such as luxury goods are all well and good, except that it screws with trade routes... Personally, I think it would be cool, but so over complicated that it would do more harm
Obviously the central tower is the bridge and the rear is the engine area. On the sides are the two light autocannons. Towards the front, I think you can identify the primary gun... You can also see the four containment field projectors surrounding the barrel. Around that, you have four pillars, each wielding three autocannons, thus accounting for
Well... I'm now done with the rough model of it. It still has some things to be desired, but still, it gets the point across...
Correct... Really the only way to fix the problem is to make extra squads researchable in high tiers... Sure you could make the ship itself researchable, but I don't really like that as it defeats the entire purpose of the Sova...
I said armistice was good under the right circumstances... Sure, it can save your fleet, but really all it does is neutralize the battle... And I of course know why you would get a level 1 colonize, but anything beyond that just seems a waste... Ion Bolt is good at taking down a Marza, Radiance, or Vulkoras when nuking the enemy fleet, but still... It only does so much and if you play properly, you shouldn't be so reliant on abilities that losing them makes
Well... for all intents and purposes, we could just say that central laser cannon was a gauss cannon... that is why... It looks like it.. so... yeah... and I didn't want to use auto cannons because they don't look right... And yeah... as far as the rails, or booms as you call them, go I was thinking four... But I guess three could work too, but the design I have requires that it be four... Idk... I'll have to draw/model it before it'll make sense...
Uhh... All I was doing was paraphrasing and explaining how said items could be applicable in Sins...
By the tri-arm, I am assuming that you mean one central cannon with three containment field generators around it? I was really thinking of this ship being more of an octangular prism with that on the front than anything else... Nolane: Umm... if you say so... Rashnak: I guess so. Go ahead and switch the phase missile tubes to wave cannons...
Hrmm... I just never have seen the point in the Akkan. Perhaps no one I've played against used it properly, but I just don't see how anything but ion bolt/armistice on it would be worth while... You are right about the Kol though... I would like gauss cannon to get a buff... That would give a point to the Kol and give the enemy a reason to aim at them, rather than wait until the end. But I do agree with you. They are the toughest cap
Oh, and just some added information... Nolane : Hull: 1200 Shield: 2100 Appearance: Looks much like the deliverance engine, only the flanges on the sides are bent backwards. At the "crease," is the location of the engines Astrom : Hull: 2300 Shield: 1050 Appearance: A long tube with four engines and the axial gun in the front center. I'll have to draw this one...
