i had a talk with my friend and he says hes pretty sure he can get an audiance with one of bungies programers
Camcan13
Why not? The more the merrier. Can he texture?
I guess he can. he's been working on a grunt homeworld map thing and its amazingly detailed despite the size. Hopefully he could get the attention of bungie on this project
I just found out one of my friends at school used to work as a tester for bungie and used to talk and play online with one of halo's programers on a regular basis. Hes a great modder, ive seen some of his work and he knows an amazing amount of halo lore so im sure he'll be a great help. Should i get him to come and help with anything?
is it just me or has this thread dying. its been so slow here. i miss the constructive arguments and shit arguing on how to actualy get ahold of bungie and other stuff i cant quite think of right now *continues bitching*
so, am i gonna contact bungie or not :NOTSURE:
May i request permision from Canadaman or any other person working hard on this mod to contact bungie as a representative for Sins of the Prophets? I will be as gentlemanly and respectfull as possible while asking for insight on halo lore to stay as close to canon as we possibly can. Considering bungie must get hundreds of emails a day, im assuming it will take a day to a week for a response and i will inform the correct people any information i recieve.
Point defense guns aren't mentioned anywhere though, not in the books, not in the games nowhere.
you didnt see the SMACs in halo 3
They got on the Pillar of Autumn as well.
in halo book, the flood, the covenant wanted to capture the ship to gather info on the human command structure and planet locacations and the like. it was a special mission for that particular fleet
well if they did why were sop many small landing craft able to board them no problem i think the defense of the smac where the crew members inside
At what point did they say it was easy for the landing craft to get aboard? they could have just swarmed the station since the covenant are known to use there numbers as an advantage. On the point with the infantry in the platform, they were all there for the cerimony, not cause they were posted there. do you think under normal
He was referring to the SMAC platforms. Nowhere is it mentioned they have point defense. Although for something that is that big of a target, I (the operative word here) would put some point defenses on it.Correct, the UNSC have point defense guns, but the SMAC's don't. If they did, it'd say so SOMEWHERE. Books and even the games have no problem pointing out every other ship has point defense, why wouldn't they say if the SMAC had them? So I believe they don't, as illogical as it is, it's
Okay, do SMAC's fire via ability or is the SMAC their usual, ordinary weapon? No that it makes much difference, because you can't enable weapons via research, only abilities can have research prerequisites. As I was saying though, any flak weapons would need to be abilities. And we could either A: have the ability do a wide-area flak burst like the Kol's, or B: attack fighters individually.
i like the burst idea.
i think that the reason they didnt
would it be possible to add small amount of point defences onto a SMAC platform? If the SMACs where so large that they had a tram built into so it only makes sense. I'm sure the military isint making the same mistake others did in world war II when everyone just built things with big guns and almost ignored the fighter, bomber, and torpedo plane's lethality. Then again, history does tend to repeat itself....Opinions?PS: you all owe me a cookieIt's a nice

with the whole planet jumping thing, ummm, uhhh yeah maybe im not thinkin hard enough for the answer or maybe the answer is so simple i overlooked it my head hurts, er, i think my brain just peed it self
is it a possibility that the homeworld can have much larger cap for SMACs than other planets? Reach only had 20 as compared to Earths 300 (i just love the refrences to sparta itself from Grece) Doing so could potentially negate the effect of charging strait into the homeworld and forcing the opponet to capture near by planets to attack from several sides Can i have opinions please?
If i may, covies have several plasma batteries on their space station as with the refueling base in halo: first strike.
and a random 3rd post
the thing with phase missiles though is that they have a chance of exiting phase between where the shields go active and the ship itself
i think shield mitigation mostly mean shield focus. the more ships attack one ship the more the mitigation shield (seprate from acctual shields) can focus on defending the general areas as in if you have one gun firing, you cant realy predict where it will land, but with several, you can triangulate (find general area) were they are most trying to hit. does this make sense to anyone?
Are you guys still having touble with the canon issue? there is one very simple answer to fix all of that
