1) Great AAR 2) I don't know if you are still waiting for a response, but I would buy peace as quick as possible, starting with altara. If you cannot immediately talk to everyone, I would call in the unallied civs and buy them into war with Toria to start putting massive pressure on Toria, draining their economy and military, which will make it easier to buy peace, and help build you up by tearing them down.

If you don't want the jagged knife, or the super pirates, turn mega events off when you play. If the campaign is too hard for you, then don't play it, the sandbox games are where 90% of the value of this game comes from anyway.
