They may not say it outright, but people often seem to be far too caught up in the notion that the earth withour humans wouldn't exist. Maybe i'm just cynical. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

That's why i set this up. We all know each others stance, i was just wondering if anyone else would see this and add any new details. Btw, i'm looking into this on The Force.net. I'm sort of interested now, and i want to see what it really is. Maybe someone there would know. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

By the way, i haven't said this in a while: Incredible story. Please write more. I give cookie. Wait, there's no cookie icon. So i give beer. And pizza. It's for this debate. So that others can more easily lend their

Well, i've been involved in a massive long debate about whether or not hyperspace in star wars is another dimension, universe (some times people interchange these, remember, they're different!), or just simply going faster than the speed of light. (ftl) What is it? What are you're theories? What are your takes? Let's stop mucking up WitchFire's thread. That's for the awesomeness that is Saints of a Solar Empire. Not debating. Plus, more people will have input this way! Yay! De

HA HA HA! Such ego! Such shortsightedness! Nuclear weapons, global warming, give ma a break! We can't do jack to the Earth! Sure, we can kill ourselves off completely, sure we can f*** up the atmosphere, but we can do nothing, nothing to damage the planet! No matter what we do, the world goes on. Think of three billion yars ago. Everything breathed CO2. Nothing breathed oxygen. Then little cyanobacterium started cranking out oxygen. A global threat! A massive

Man, i'm all alone. I think i'm the only proponent of the simple ftl theory. And yeah, i have heard of plasma storms and magnetic anomalies. And i know enough to know that plasma storms are caused by the sun, not gravity leakage. And magnetic anomalies are usually explianed by planetary or solar characteristics. They're not like sins, dude. And also, universes or dimensions aren't layered like icing on a cake. They're generally excepted to be fluid, and not stictly placed next to

So exarion, do those gravwells work? Can you fly between them with no problems, or does it register you as still being in the starting well? [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

I know how gravity works. The rubber sheet model has been around forever. But what i'm trying to say is that it's impossible to know the interaction of gravity in one universe on another universe. Think, if gravity could bleed over from other universes, why aren't there massive random gravitic anomlies all over the place as massive objects in other universes cause gravwells. It's too rediculous to say that every universe has the same number of celestial bodies in the same places, causing the
yea. pretty much, any celestial body (i.e. gravity well) distorts the space-time continuum and makes it impossible to navigate
Ah, but how can one know that?
I don't quite remember because i havent read them in a while so I think it is in the Han Solo Trilogy.
No, actually if you read the books, they tell you it is a different dimension - the movie doesn't say either way. The Katana Fleet got lost in hyper, and disapppeared, yet they speak as if the possibility of finding it is still there, which it wouldn't be if it were just above the speed of light, cuz 300 years past lightspeed would bring them out of the galaxy. were it just faster than light, then they would never get anywhere in t

Hey, i just thought of this, Rochar is a lot like Anubis from WitchFire's saints of a solar empire. They're both really powerful asteroid bases that serve as chokepoints. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

Yeah i suppose, but in star wars, hyperspace is just going faster than the speed of light, not entering a completely different dimension, which phase (sometimes called N) space is. Btw, is Kol supposed to be the TEC admiral guy on the front of the game manual and inside game box flap? His description defintely matches, i don't think anyone has mentioned this yet.
i'm pretty sure that it just passes thru - game glitch, not actual physics.
Actually dude, real phsics could allow for phase travel through a planet. As far as i can tell from the game guide and such, including artciles on the real theory of phase space, phase space is a 'place' outside our own universe. In sins, when ships travel in phase space they're not going at the speed of light, but just simply dipping out of our space, a

No way! There is a z-axis?? Awesomeness, thank you! I had no idea.
How is Sins not already focussed on strategy? If you feel that you don't need much strategy against the AI then I cordially invite you to come play against real human opponents in online multiplayer. You might then discover that apart from enjoying the company of other Sins fans that the online game is all about strategy.
I have

Hey, it does work, kinda. I used orodum's short jump idea during a multiplayer game with one of my friends. It was a small map, with only like ten planets.I sent out a big fleet, and it took them like a half an hour to get close to his capital. Then, i phase jumped them in. Worked perfectly, his home fleet was gone. Never saw it coming. A lot of effort, but a lot of gain. I hope stardock does make an expansion with much larger gravwells, so that like Virilias said, it would be more fo

Has anyone tried flying between planets or *gasp* even stars without using the phase drive? Just usuing the normal slow sublight? Me and my friend were talking about it, and how it could be a good sneak attack method (long sneak attack) because then you wouldn't get the 'phase jump detected' thingy when you're en route to an enemy system. So, has anyone tried it? is it even possible? I know you ca nfly really far out of a grav well, but i've never tried going all the way.

I'm not a KOTOR hater. I love kotor. And Star wars. What i don't love, is how they are bastardizing KOTOR by copying other storylines, changing a few details, then calling it KOTOR. It's pathetic. Come up with an actual all new story line. PLease. And yes, this is a KOTOR mmorpg. They just created a BS new name.
