Hello all, I am new to modeling and thought I would throw together the cradle repair station since its very simple. My design is very basic at this point but I am open to suggestions. Top View: Bottom View: <img style="float: left;" src="http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss30/drumin90/cradle2.jp
I also have to say that ORB was to scale as opposed to Sins where sizes between ships, planets, and stars are way off. But then again I like the Sins gameplay much more than ORB mainly because the AI in ORB would flatten me after five minutes into the game.
Okay I got the XSI Mod Tools. Now when I try to import a model from 3DS Max, the window is just filled with a watermark-like text. I figured the convert programs were just command line programs and I know that the tutorials included use the XSI Mod Tools so these are some of the only issues I have right now.
Oh sorry forgot to say... I am running Vista if that helps at all.
I'm entirely new to modding so I may just be confused... When I try to open either ConvertData or ConvertXSI it just shows a little black window for less than a second and then it closes and appears to have done nothing else. In the documentation it shows a program with a nice user interface for the models. What am I missing here?
I had an idea to do something similar to this. I think it would be a great idea to have one massive ship but the only problem is balancing issues. And on a side note: I thought I was the only person to play O.R.B. I agree I would like to see some of the abilities of ORB in Sins such as Ram, Kamikaze, and powerdown.
So it is possible to use 3ds max and then use the included converter to convert to XSI? That was my main concern. Based on your post I am asuming that both models and animations are in the XSI format, correct? I will have a look at the file included in the mod pack. Thanks for the info.
Which is the best program to use for modeling and animating?
Thanks again. That helps. What program do you use to create the nulls? Do you have any experience with AutoDesk 3DS Max 9? (thats what I'm using) I will most likely start making several of these objects within the next couple days so I might be posting many more questions :)
OK thanks...I should be able to get the planet thing working with that...If not I'll post again here. I have another quick question. I was reading elsewhere on this forum and found that to create custom ships you must place emiters, engine trails, etc...My question is once I have a ship model, how do I place such items? Thanks again
Thank you that helps me quite a bit. Another question: What file types does everything have to be in (i.e. model file type, animation file type, etc) and where (exactly or appoximately) are the planet files located?
Hi all, I am a complete n00b to modding but have some experience in modeling and animation. My question is how do I create a new planet type and incorporate it into the galaxy forge? I greatly appreciate any help (ps even a bump in the right direction would help)
Hi all, I am new to modding and as of yet know very little about it (although I can model quite well). My question is how can i create a new type of planet and add it to the game/the forge tools? If I created the model how can i put a texture on it and place the files in the game directory? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
