Okay, maybe my issue is not so much with the IG, they are fictional after all, but I have to admit that the idea of throwing ill-trained men or under-equipped men into combat like that seems more like a method of population control than actual warfare. I'm just amazed by the idea that the same government that makes Space Marines also makes the IG. Aside from the mismatch, it just seems like they might just want to blow the cash over a few SM rather than a lot fo IG. That and I can mak

I'm not saying that any particular combat going on now or with the U. S. Army sets the example. Although I understand that Tyrannids would represent an amazingly terrifying opponent, I also know that two of the unknown soldiers are skeletons fused together when a flamethrower exploded and they died drenched in napalm. That is just one example of some amazing events that I'm sure have left skid marks in teh pants of those experiencing history. Besides, I'm sure when 1,100 Romans watche

I dunno. I also watch the cut scenes in the game and they have the men running in like retarded baboons on meth. When I fight, I have this weird thing about approaching cautiously while taking cover to minimize casualties. I dunno, it seems to work, but maybe the creators of the game, you know, the guys who think giant metal pods falling from the sky was a good idea, have it right. UPS... burning up on reentry.

IG is basically just throwing WWII tech into a Starcraft fight. So of course they have a lot of stebacks, but if you use them right, they can hold their own. Btw, our guys in teh field now? guns, guns, guns, tanks, guns, tanks, more guns. Most army guys don't try getting into melee if they can help it. And if you need to shield against melee, Ogryn. I had them hold off three groups of Orks while the squadmen gunned em down. Worked just fine. Not saying that all other groups suck, just

letsee... a few is three, so that's three vehicles, two squads, 2-3 more vehicles, 1-2 ore vehicles and one last for fun. That's 9-11 units. I have 2-3 squads (yes, Ogryn are fun), and an engineer to produce new turrets as I move, with three artillery units. That's 6-7 units. Much less doing the same job, PLUS if I came against that Iron Fist Army, I could always just turtle long enough to make my own Iron Fist AND give them the artillery, or screw it all and get a Baneblade. Not

Alexander still sits near Levin when an ensign again walks into the room, "Sir, Paragon Carbon has just arrived. He is scheduled to meet with Lord Arnoldt." Alexander looks over, "Alright, send him my greetings, but inform him that I am in dispose of. How are we coming on the Lions?" "Blue Fleet is stationed at the Asimov station, where we left them. Red Fleet is near the other end of the Vasari front and Green is in service at Ganymede Station." Alexander nods, "Have

Good and bad of those games... Dawn of War has a general imbalance of allowing the AI to have more than one army against you, including duplicate commanders. Not a big issue in itself, but without true line of sight and depending on the species matched up, it becomes difficult to hold a front against opponents. Beyond that, the campaign is actually well set up and gives you a variety of puzzles which require both tactical intelligence and conservative use of your men. The orig

Okay, so the sniper doesn't sound useless. I wouldn't expect it to work against anything larger than a single person. I have to admit, infiltrate sounds a bit weak, but that's me. I'm use to Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, Total War, etc. when it comes to my strategy. Most of those can include something closer to a true stealth.

I have no idea how, if at all, you can incorporate snipers into the game. It seems logical that certain factions would use them, but it's a table top, so you can't really have invisible units and even if you have to get a detector unit near, it would either be a rush of detectors or an unbalanced game. Between that and the fact that I've seen the space battle version where for some reason ships can't use thrusters to move sideways or back up, it seems like the game does a disservice to the co

(DS RP) Alexander sits near Levin's bed, leaning back in the folding chair provided for him. The equipment Levin's connected to beeps and hums as it watches over his situation. His midsection, left arm, and head are wrapped up. An ensign comes into the room, "Sir, Xenon has sent a shuttle to take the White Impulse. Should we give them clearance to land?" Alexander nods, "Sure, let them get that thing out of here." "Yes, sir. We've also detected a large number of TEC ve
