How is asking what you think Stardock should do to make up for their error flamebaiting? This is only a one way flame war...with the stardock fanboy posse leading the charge. I'm trying to help if only people would take off their fanboy goggles and understand that they screwed up very badly with this release. Now let's accept that and make this a constructive discussion about what they can do to turn this into a positive fo
Actually, it is flakey enough to cause large numbers of problems, especially if there isn't anything being used at the application level to make it act more like TCP. With UDP if ANYTHING goes wrong with a single pa
I've spoke of this before. The whole favor system is flawed. it doesn't prevent "rage quitting". What it does it teach you to rage quit earlier or rage quit after you've got all your favor. All it does it creates a WoW battleground like grind that noone likes and benefits the "haves" while putting the "have nots" at a severe disadvantage. most games use UDP for their core game play, which is understandable because it's much faster, if not reliable. However, it seems like TCP is needed to establish connections and make sure everyone shakes each other's hands correctly. If UDP is used for this... well, I could see why there is such a high failure rate even with good settings.

Well, I remember hearing that Sins cost about 2 million to make, so was a very cheap and profitable game for SD. I would imagine DG to be slightly more expensive, but that's just a guess.

Past lvl 15, you really are better off auto attacking than using hammerslam in most cases. Better to have put those points into other skills, because you can do more DPS than hammerslam does, and not have to worry about missing or interupts at least. Same when you look at fireball. It's as simple as that.
Actually, I understand the game was working very well in BETA. The testing just didn't count for as much traffic as it got (due to piracy for first few days), and connection issues due to BETA people being a more t

And that was only on release; it took them months / years to finish upgrading their infrastructure to the necessary point and get realms divided properly so you didn't have 5K people waiting lines on some servers. (I can not tell you how often my server, Dalaran, had ridiculous degrees of trouble because of too many people... ./grumble) <br

Different heroes shine at different times. Reg and UB suck early, get okay mid, and dominate late game. That's okay from a design perspective.

Nightmare, hard, normal. It doesn't matter. Bots will always be gankfests because they are stupid (understandably). Nightmare just gives them more money to have a chance to win even if they are dumb. Not fun IMO.
Not at all. But it is okay to treat a customer the way the customer treats them. It is a very stupid social phenomenon that the "customer is always right" which means the customer can berate an official without any reprocussions. Frogboy, and all of Stardock, treat people with the same respect people show them. Frogboy himself has seen many arguments and debates on the forums and IRC and participated in plenty. He doesn't m

Sigh. SD makes great games and software, GPG makes great games, Valve makes great games and software, and Blizzard makes great games. Suggesting otherwise is retarded-elitism. Essentially saying, "I don't like the same massively popular, critically acclaimed crap as everyone else, therefore I'm better than everyone else." Retarded. It was wrong of VoW-Kyro to suggest that SD wants their products to fail, but he's probably having a rough time with entertainment, so I forgive hi

I guess you've never even seen the general classes in action. First of all, they ARE built for killing. Their nuke attacks aren't AS strong as some of the nuke skills of the assassins, but they're there, and they have a-LOT of support skills, not to mention their minions. You can very easily play a general class as an assassin to counter another assassin

You can't hold the game accountable for incompetence. If it's your teammates, get some friends or wait like I am for the upcoming team pantheon. In most games I play where there are decent players, first bloods won't happen for a long time, and farming first items takes a while. So yeah, inpetitude isn't the games faults. Its

I don't think the OP was talking about favor points at all. How much favor you get is pretty minor in the long run. What does matter is how much reward you get in the game. If the only reward is for killing other players (and a little for controlling gold mines), then what's the point in making anything but an assassin type character (even if you pick a general).
