rebuilding shipsets? I keep the original mod files and reinstall the design and shipset folders. fixing cyborg leader? just add the following to the trigger section of the life trait OnInitialShips Global Instant
From the sounds of it the problem is that the ship DESIGNS, which the shipset calls upon, are not in the proper folder. The ship designs would have to be in the: steam/steamapps/common/galactic civilizations III/designs folder, because the game will not see them in the mod folder without mods enabled.
So I just tried loading w/ Mods so I could access one of your civilizations. I saved the ship set to disk with a different name. Assigned the shipset to the civilization and saved the civilization. I turned mods off and reloaded. I still get an error 'Unknown Ship Style.' Edit: Debug.err shows this line, so apparently the issue is with a Zrentak Colonies ship? But the error doesn't give enough information to kn
I sometimes wonder if it was a typo and it is supposed to read "all" instead of "a" [e digicons][/e] It isn't linked to having a manager anyway, since I've had a few but STILL don't have that achievement (although I do have Cool Head(s) ).
Only certain combos unlock a crisis manager there are 8 crisises. there are 127 possible solutions. only 10 of those solutions give a crisis manager. I have managed it 3 times, so far. Mostly with the brain parasites benevolent/science path (twice) Can't remember the other one.
Not all crisis solutions give a crisis manager.
Here are all the Crisis solutions, if you want them: http://wiki.galciv.com/index.php/Crises
I have noticed 1 small problem. The Cyborg life type that you use for the Borg does not give you your leader as a Leader citizen. (Already fixed for me, just letting you know so you can fix for everybody, if it isn't intended for some reason)
Oops [e digicons]:X[/e] Sorry about that. Hmmm... I've made a few custom images myself and never seen this kind of behavior before. Looked at you file images, can't say I see anything out of kilter. The only thing I can think of is that maybe a game file has gotten corrupted, have you verified them recently?
You are using the wrong image format. The pictures need to be in .PNG format, not .JPG
Names cannot be copyrighted, only trademarked, so how does this show an interest in copyright?
Nope. What that does is set a flag for the game. There are certain citizens, techs, facilities and whatnot that can only be used by races with a certain trait. For example cybernetic gets no direct bonuses, but does gain access to a special citizen that increases the speed of all of your ships by 1 (for each one you have). I believe it also gives you a couple of special techs, but I'm not sure about that. [e digicons][/e]
Actually, you can only combine certain ones. You mentioned GovernmentDefs and 1-GRM CommandComponentDefs. This would cause the game to crash as they use 2 different Schemas.
Every XML file in GalCiv starts with a schema definition like this: xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="../Schema/RaceTraitDefs.xsd"> This is what tells the program what the file is for. In this case everyth
He is using Gauntlet's mod. Exterminator is a trait he made for the Daleks [e digicons]B)[/e] . He also strengthened a couple of "weak" traits. Several of them grant one or another citizen.
In which case I suggest changing the "Crisis Manager" hover-over text on the "Your Government" page to something like "Unlock assigning a crisis manager by successfully completing certain crises" or "some crises" or something like that... I'm fine with the way crisis managers are implemented--but the tool tip makes it seem like a bug.<br /
A couple of other things I've noticed in my current game: 1) I occasionally get the opportunity to build additional Computer Core and Central Bank improvements--I think this happened upon loading a save or possibly when a conquered faction gave me their stuff... or a combination of the two. I wasn't able to tell. 2) I am not always able to get a Crisis Manager after successfully completing a Crisis. 3)
Same thing happened to me several times in 3.03. Had 20 race game on an immense or huge map, a race would surrender or the game would say that X race was destroyed, but I would later see a message saying that they had changed to a coalition government. Haven't seen it in 3.04 yet, but wouldn't be surprised if it was still there.
Most games that I have noticed are locked. Friends playing friends.
This is where it gets confusing you have 2 galactic civilizations folders one is in the program files x86 the other is under libraries\documents\my games i'm pretty sure it wants the second place since it says my games. In case I was to confusing I will repeat myself This pc\ documents\ my games is the right folder.
Actually the star trek mod makes changes to both folders. the [for your games di
The ...Galactic Civilizations 3 folder is the root folder, where you will find all the subfolders you need for that section of the mod. If you open the [For your games directory] folder you will find where to put the files. Put them EXACTLY where it tells you to or it will not work properly. Same thing with the folder marked [for your my games...] folder. Good luck. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Unfortunately my talents run to music and ruthlessly conquering galaxies [e digicons]B)[/e] Watching Brad throw together a ship in a matter of seconds, that is better looking than something I could do in a couple of days just makes me want to [e digicons]:'([/e] There are a number of talented ship artists on this forum though, hopefully this thread will catch someone's eye.
I got Brindle's Observatory quite late in the game, all planets (even extreme ones) that I can see are already colonized. So it should be no problem to see a new, uncolonized planet ...
The Brindle Planet is not uncolonized. You gain a new (already colonized) planet.
