GC2: DL -- Language mixed, broken and garbled after last update in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

After my last frustrating venture (see my other post on this forum) into the realms of Stardock software, I thought I'd try my luck again with GC2:DL. Hi, is there an easier way to update a retail version of Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lords? I mean, I had to register with your site (annoying), download an extra software called Impulse (even more annoying and pretty useless) which is now downloading another 500MB of updates -- is this even right? Anyway, to add insult to injury neither the manual, the "Update" function of the game nor this webpage clearly states that the above mentioned, annoying steps had to be taken. It d
