Hit next turn and got messages that cities had leveled up. When the first of those came up the map started jittering in the background. Continued into my turn after I answered all the questions. Quicksaved & exited. This happened once several versions ago. Was fine when I loaded the save. quick save while map was moving back & forth http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/QuickSave-jitter2.EleSav debug.err &n

I would miss the minor factions. Even if they go bye-bye now, bring them back when/if we have bigger maps so there is more room for them. And if they go, nuke the message in one of the start/wait screens that says that neutral shops have been known to sell exotic goodies from before the cataclysm. I never saw anything all that exotic there anyway.
you guys get Spooks over there? "Being Human"?
I think "Spooks" is called MI-5 here. Anyway, its my local public broadcasting station, not BBC America, and it is great. But I gather what they show here is a few years behind. Regular watcher of Being Human here (on BBC). Tried watching one episode of the American version and couldn't stand watching a rerun with different actors. No idea whether it might be better for first-time v

1st fight in a new campaign with a clean start. Saw a garble floating up instead of a number of damage points on (I think) the 2nd swing of the game. That I have seen a few times before, butg not so early. Then several subsequent swings had chopped-of letters or numbers floating up, which I have not seen before. Saved game & exited.
weapons can affect speed so that a unit with a dagger will get more (ie: if you are a heavy spell caster, carry a dagger or a staff, not a Maul)
This part bugs me. Using a dagger instead of a huge club should mean you can stab with the dagger a lot of times, but it should make my spell casting faster. That's a problem with the whole "action point" system carried over from E:WoM, where it bugs me that having a horse means I can shoot a bow one more time p
The sales also mean people might buy games they wouldn't normally be willing to try, due to the lower barrier to entry. As for the question, Shogun 2. In large part because I don't have time to play it right now anyway.
Me too.
I'm a patient person.
Me too.

With all the fuss in other threads about Impulse & Gamestop -- is the Amazon digital download system especially loathsome ? I notice they have CK complete and EU:Rome complete cheaper than Impulse. CK is like $5.99 on disk before shipping.

I think Vandenburg has it right, at least about historical bows/strength and plate armor. But if we have magic attack/defense we may not really need much with different physical damage types. I bitched about this way back, but the slash/pierce/blunt setup looks like a carryover from GalCiv 2's 3 damage types. GalCiv2 needed them because it didn't have the other distinctions like magic/physical or even ranged/melee. Agree wit dsraider that it would be

Gives a whole new meaning to the "Weekend Impulse Buys" emails I keep getting... ... and will probably get myself off the list for after this. When they were running the numbers on this, did they factor in the cost of customer consternation ??

Question: I see in the specs that it is "pausable realtime". Can you issue orders while paused? If so, ok. I hate time pressure and normally avoid anything real-time, but if I can pause and issue orders while nothing is happening thats ok. Just like turn-based except I get to decide how long the turns are. Otherwise, forget it.

Others have complained in the past that combat is boring. I think so too, but not exactly for the reasons I recall others saying. Here are my complaints / suggestions: 1: Have fewer battles but bigger. Combine the huge stacks of separate units into one stack for combat purposes. I'm tired of fighing 3 medium-sized battles, or 15 tiny ones, when I could have had 1 big/epic one. Even if the enemy stacks on a square were really supposed to be sep
