Be sure that you have the latest update for BootSkin Pro. There was an issue with applying BootSkins for 64-bit versions of Windows.
I'm well aware of that, it doesn't work.

I've been researching the procedure for replacing the boot image, and it seems the location of the file differs depending on the locale, which may explain why it doesn't show up properly on my swedish Vista x64. I have a feeling it currently works properly on a US version of vista only... (Atleast when it comes to the non-ultimate versions). It's just a guess though, don't flame me if I'm wrong :)
That is how it will work. Microsoft hides the boot animation when a boot skin is applied.
It doesn't show the bootskin I choose, I doubt that's the way its suppose to work. :)
Installed updated bootskin pro, and unfortunately it still doesn't work properly for me. It says the skin is installed but I only get the default aurora (the still image, not the progressbar thing) image when booting.
Can everyone please do us a favor and post what version of Windows Vista is running that has Bootskin fail to apply?
Absolutely! Windows Vista Home Premium x64 (swedish)
Please report it here https://forums.wincustomize.com/330550/#1945872
Why? This thread explicitly says to report issues here; from the OP:
When Object Desktop 2009 is released, this is where the known issues will be posted. Please post your findings here as well. Thank you!
Ok, installed the updated bootskin pro, and now it just states that it fails to apply any skin I try. And on a sidenote, why is the icon for email the same as the one for the controlpanel in the aero midnight iconset? Doesn't really make sense. :)
Bootskin Pro doesn't work for me. If I select a skin I only get the default aurora style picture at boot. iwas; I had the same issue. I switched to the windows classic theme in the standard windows settings, then switched back to aero and all of the sudden midnight popped up in all its glory.
I installed the updated soundpackager and it just crashes with the message that it has stopped working. (Vista home premium x64 SP2) I also tried reinstalling it. Didn't help.
I hate to jump in on this, but is there a better site you can think of to download from? Wincustomize is better than any site around... but if there is let me know...
I didn't say wincustomize is a bad place to download from, I just stated why I will not pay a subscription. Also, as an object desktop subscriber I feel I get less value from the subscription (as some features of the site "overlap"). It m
I suppose it's luna to add some credibility to the picture. It's hard to tell the difference between vista and XP in a skinned environment. :)
This implies a problem with accuweather rather than the docklet... If you can connect to the right page at the accuweather site, perhaps an overview of how the docklet is connecting is in order... (Though I think that's already done, so the next OD release should sort the issues).
I want a different icon for regular thunderbird and the addressbook (which is launched by executing "thunderbird -addressbook"). Objectdock considers both of them as the same launcher, and replace both icons when any of them is changed. It also affects games played on steam, as all those games are launched through the client, so every single game get the same icon. Is there a way to circumvent this problem?
Wait for the Object Desktop 2009, I'm under the impression that along with it there will be an updated object dock plus with all sorts of new stuff for us to enjoy (including a working weather docklet) :) Release 17th or 19th is what I've heard... :)
I made these suggestions elsewhere ( http://forums.impulsedriven.com/329638 ), but I figure it can't hurt to add them here too. :) Read the above link for a more indepth description of the features I'd like to see. :) The short version is; Subtabs. Would improve greatly on the existing tabbed dock. Rollodex like transition when switching tabs. It'd look awesome. :) There goes, now reply
So don't subscribe.

So what's to complain about?
I won't, and YOU asked. :)
Heh, no need to be feeling silly. As Scott Adams neatly put it (as I recall it); We're all idiots, just at different occasions. (Read "The Dilbert Principle" for a full explanation, this is NOT an insult.) :p Also, I'd like to add a small idea I got while browsing around to kill time... Would look really pretty to have a rollodex rotation effect when switching tabs. :) <img src="http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:84WPqH5oFnAVNM:http://www.dcprojectservices.co.u
Lastly, the application fee pays for teh development and support. The WC subscription helps pay for teh bandwidth of the site. Very different. Also, curent Stardock customers have unlimited downloads (I think). So what's to complain about?
I don't pay subscription for a site I can't rely on delivering what I want at a reasonable speed. It's the same thing as with going to a store. I won't buy their things
It's a free market. If you don't feel it's worth it, just don't buy it. IMO your complaint is entirely misdirected (referring to teegger here, the OP doesnt complain about the site itself), you should complain about the bugs and slow site you're referring to, not about the price. I find the price fair, but I wouldn't pay it because of all the issues.
Yeah, thats what I pictured also. However, what I meant I'd like to see is your problem. How the tabs are "outside" the dock area as you said in the original post. Have you tried to drag the edges like I said?
The default tabs are outside the main background. That's the only thing I meant. I didn't mean to suggest I have a problem that needs resolving. :)
Have a look at this thread: https://forums.wincustomize.com/170537 Also, hope you get some pics posted.
Ah, I'll definetely check that out, seems sweet. Here'a an image I quickly tossed together to illustrate the suggestion. <a href="http://
I don't see anything there that I can't do with OD already. I use a tabbed dock for programs I don't use too frequently, and keep a clean zooming dock for docklets/frequently run software. My idea is meant to extend the usability and configurability of the tabbed dock in OD+, which is great, but slightly too limited. I may draw up some pictures a bit later today to better illustrate what I mean.
I have tons of icons in different categories. Using just a single tabset is not really practical for my needs. So it would be awesome if support could be added for subtabs. Either you understand what I mean right away, or you're totally lost now (what the h**k am I on about???). IF you get it, fine. Don't read on. The rest of this post is just a clarification. :) I have a feeling this really would benefit from some images, but I'll try to explain in words, as I don't have the proper s
How about making a unified theme resource directory structure? Some components use the same resources, and I find it annoying to have to browse around everywhere to find some particular icon, or a backdrop of some kind. So, what I suggest is something like this; [%userdir%]\Stardock\[resource category]\ \[themename] examples: \Stardock\Icons\ICO\awesome\ - Icon resources. \Stard
