Stardock has released more software than they can handle, it's quite obvious. And it's a shame, because the software really *was* top notch, and deserve further development.
Similar theme, excellent idea. Wonder if it could be made into a dream?
Well, I suppose anything can be made as a dream really, all it tsakes is a lot of work :)... Otherwise there's Vital Desktop .
Who's Ted? (I'm not American, and I don't follow news very much... But perhaps I should just check CNN or something instead of look stupid here.) EDIT: And I did.
The more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain...
Carefully thought through complex plumbing could lower the risk of the drain cloggin up though. :)
Banned for using fancy words like "overtizing" and "entendre". Double ban for failing the spelling of the basic word DOUBLE... :D
Well, skins are like clothing for your software. While they change the appearance, what's underneath remain the same. :)
Whatever happened to the screensavers with newsfeeds and weather and pics? MSN had a beta, but a few skinners were making their own and they were pretty nice.
There's a screensaver module for samurize . I've used it successfully for just that. :) It's not the easiest bit of software to use though.
Banned for failing a proper head-shot (with the camera dude, the CAMERA) :P
I found a new favorite screensaver. It's not very remarkable in what it does, as it simply displays time and date, but the design just rocks my world. :D Hit the link to go there. :)
Is that a good hmmmm.... or a bad hmmmm.....(as in "You don't wanna know what I think, Doc")?
Errr.... "Please make a DX based on my bowels", that sounds VERY hmmmm-worthy to me. ;)
I cleared out all traces of Deskscapes and reinstalled. Stars stopped crashing and now works, but Desktop Collage still acts up on on the preview.
Installed the updated deskscapes, and my problems are still there. I tried to capture the issues on video, jing doesn't capture very well with deskscapes running. The issue is quite apparent anyway though. So here's a link .
It would seem to me that stardock should fix it so that the dream mgr. does see them. I paid for the program, and now it don't work, bummer.
I don't see your point dude, why does it seem to you as Stardock should fix it? They didn't sell it to you.
mickeko: There shouldn't be a set as desktop background option on .dream files. Did you upgrade over 2.5?
Yes, I did. Well, Impulse did it for me really, but that might just be semantics. :P
I am not aware of any problems with the desktop collage preview on Vista. There is a known issue with the Photo dream preview and some of the other dynamic dreams don't preview quite right on XP.
Well, I'm very aware of it. It pops up the desktop collage for a fraction of a second then goes all black. Periodically it flashes into view again. Also, right clicking on a dream and selecting "Set As Desktop Back
It looks nice. But: When I try to select the "Stars" dynamic dream, it instacrashes. "Desktop Collage" preview is all buggered up. (Vista Home Premium x64 swedish) On a sidenote: Pick a picture of a nice landscape and load it as background on the water dream, set drops to occur with a minimum time between drops and put drop size to 75% or so. Finally, switch on extreme motion blur effect... That's really eerie :P
Wincustomize: Wiz In Costume (works quite well), Cum Into Wizes (eh... let's just leave it at that. ok? I'll stop now. ;) ) Oh, don't think I'm good at this though... Wordsmith anagram generator is pretty cool. :)
I think there's something Miricla-ous going on. I recolored it and got The Shroud of Turin.
lol, after seeing what is is, I can't believe I had to look up to know. ;)
I have seen this too. Works beautifully in old UI. Seems to only be this skin.
It works with most skins, but not all. And you'll be "happy" to know that you're not alone. Tigris doesn't recolor using the new UI either.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or just me not knowing how to do it properly, so here goes: I installed the miricla skin.. (awesome one, one of my all time favorites for sure)... I try to click on the colours in the colours tab, and nothing happens. Do I need to enable colorization somewhere for it to work? EDIT: It works fine from the old UI, so there's something weird going on.
Released to the subscibers first? What about us people that have been here almost forever?
While I look forward to the new site, I don't care if people get it before me. It's not like the old site is unusable. Subscribers coughed up money to help PAY for the site upgrade, if they get it first it's all fine by me. Early access to a website is hardly a perk though.
Will be great, I'm sure. :)
From the next beta there will be good reason to run WB7 on XP and Vista as well as Win 7. Neil, are you teasing us?
No, because he already told us:
Sometimes the history file is updated ahead of everything else! The new UI is indeed coming with beta 2.
:D
Dani says now there is at least some reason to run 7 on Vista...but I dont know why yet.
My reason is to help out in bug-spotting. The end product is meant to work on Vista too, so it makes perfect sense to report bugs that come up, even if the main work is being done for W7 support.
mickeko is correct, both brwosers will work. My comment was soley centered on whether WB is able to skin those browsers.
FYI: WB skins google chrome (and Safari) too. :)
