I play a blitz style game. The structures still work even after the planet is destroyed so I normally lump a massive amount of defences in front of the planet around all my buildings. No hangar defence because you can have a lot more turrets instead. If they manage to bomb the planet the only thing I lose is a small tax income, most of my credits come from tradeports anyway. If you have a colony ship you can just send it to get the planet back. I can normally take 5+ planets in the space of t

I do not think he was saying most auras work this way. He was saying 'allies' does not have to include 'player'. They can be seperate sets.
Exactly, if you are just going to be playing by yourself then you can have your ultimate build, but in teams a lot of the skills will shine, a couple torchbearers can stun/fireball/aoe the players/creeps to oblivion while you destroy the buildings. An entire team all with the ultimate 'solo' builds will probably kick ass 1v1 but once you get some 3v3 or above battles the other team will probably be better able to support each other.
A new demigod should be fun, however it doesn't say anything about it being a general and I noticed the crappy word 'potentially' stuck into that sentence. :(
Everything is balanceable if the designers spend enough time at it. Obviously the more skills they have the more change they will mess a few of them up but there is no law saying it is unbalanceable just because there is x amount of skills. They just have to make sure that they add meaningful skills. As someone said a +damage -speed on the rook would be popular but a +speed -damage would be less useful to most people. Some demigods would be more or less suited to certain playstyles than other

I'd suggest using fraps, that shows the proper fps. This issue doesn't happen with supcom.
Sorry, I thought he was asking if there was a fps limit in the engine, I said I think there is one in supcom which uses the same engine. Now I realise he is saying there is a problem with the fps
I say all manuals should become digital - so like Supreme Commander did, on a CD. Why? Because it's a waste of trees. Saving the planet > manual IMO.
I am not sure where you get your paper from in your country. But in most countries with timber as an export they plant more trees than they cut down so using paper is not destroying the planet. In fact usin
Why does every item need to have nothing but +bonus stuff. If they are going to implement this upgrade system I suggest adding penalties with the bonuses. Like +attackspeed, - damage. Good if you have a stun item or something that procs for example, or just wanna kill creeps fast and dont have an AOE. Or +damage, - attackspeed, good if you wanna spam skills as attack speed doesnt really matter then and you just want pure damage. Similar with items, +manaregen -healthregen. Great for a nuker w
My supcom was exactly the same, zoomed in it was locked at 30 and zoomed out it was locked at 60. It might be the engine, i think demiod uses the SC engine. After a certain point though you cant tell the difference. I can not see the difference past 30fps
you could make the time it locks depend on the distance the flag is to you base, so defensive locking (ie locking your own portals next to your base to stop someone taking them) will be easier than offensive locking. The further away the flag is, the less time the lock lasts. Or you could make the time it takes to cap similar, so capping someones flag in their base would take a long time while they could just cap it back much quicker. It might be worth locking if you are nearby and ca
just checked mine after playing a 30 minute game, my first core was about 30%, second was about 60%, 3rd and 4th were at about 20%
Agree on the items part, I also think that there're too few items, and not so much different. The demigods seem overpowered but the items just doesn't keep up somehow. Maybe go a bit extreme and double those items stat boost or just +50% may make it noticeable.
You say the demigods are overpowered but you want to up the bonuses they get from items? Won't this just make them even more overpowered? <
I agree on the regulus, he is quite unimpressive to look at and blends in too well. However I have never had a problem with the torchbearer or any of the buildings, or the rook obviously. I think these are just normal people who just kick ass more than normal people so you cant suddenly make then 20ft tall. But more glowy affects to make them stand out is a good idea.
I am having a problem with xlink kai. Sometimes I can connect instantly and stay connected for hours on end, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 minutes to connect and then I get a 'you are unreachable - please check port forwarding' message. I have the port 30000 forwarded and that is the port I use in the config. Is there any other way of organising games apart from xlink? It just looks like a chatroom so why do I need to portforward a chatroom is beyond me. Also there never seems to be anyone in the
I just experience this graphic bug. It has only happened once in about after about 10 games and I have no idea why it happened. I didnt notice anything else wrong with my graphics in that particular game. I tried to buy something from one of the shops and I could not see any details about any of the items there. I tried a few of the other shops and they were all the same, unable to see anything about the items with a mouseover. I can not confirm if it was the same with skills as
multi-threading if done improperly can actually make the game slower. dual cores and quadcores are for running more than 1 task at the same time, I think they are aimed at commercial/business pc's rather than gaming. Plus as someone said, this is a beta. They are probably waiting until the get to the optimisation phase before adding multicore support.
