A lot can be attributed to the fact that the Advent, as you've correctly noted, are not very economy focused. Their Trade Ships can't be upgraded and in order to use a Trade Port for Resource Focus, you need to sacrifice that Port's trade abilities. To partly compensate for this, their ships, in relative terms, are rather cheap

Defensive structures were never designed to hold their own against a dedicated invasion fleet (with the exception of the upgrades in Entrenchment - and pirates usually don't do enough damage if you have a good mix of structures). They do however serve well as a way to buy your fleet time to get there and (hopefully) save your planet. Phase Jump Inhibitors also help slowing their escape and allows you to pick them off (which is even better if you have the Space Egg with Gravity Warhead - the&n

Their main advantage is to generate credits. At a very high rate. Like you've mentioned their Trade Port is at Tier 2, earlier than the other two races, and their trade vessels (and at the same time, refinery ships) can have their capacities increased by 30% (which really means 30% higher income rate). If you can even get to Tier 8, Pervasive Economy gives credits from ANY transation made by another empire. They also benefit most from population techs (Terran planets have up to 30% more popul

Mostly to hamper the ability-dependent support cruisers. The Cobalt's Sabotage Reactor disables abilities briefly and attempts to use that ability during that time cause damage, the Skirmisher's Interference doubles cooldown time and antimatter cost of abilities and the Disciple outright steals the antimatter of enemy ships. These guys are also effective against carriers and flak frigates.

That is the calling card of Clairvoyance, an ability of the Revelation Battlecruiser. It allows the viewing of any gravity well temporarily except for stars. If you watch an Arcova deploy a sensor probe, all you see is a small black object heading to the planet and landing. Otherwise, it leaves no visible trace that it has deployed a probe. Seeker Vessels with Lingering Presence researched leave no mark either.

When you have teams, you need to kill all the members of that alliance before all of them are considered defeated. However, each individual member of that alliance can surrender independently from the rest of the alliance. That AI that has that bullet hole through their picture chose to surrender, while the other four chose to stick it to the end, even if they were crushed.

Their AI is bad and the amount of micro needed to make them useful is ridiculous. In tandem with Eyes of the Converted, they can serve as a way to probe several gravity wells at the same time if hostile culture isn't strong enough to overcome the Deliverance's effects. In very large fleet battles, one side that has a 15% damage bonus on top of 6% extra shield mitigation means that side can take a lot more damage and dish out even more damage than it normally could.

Right now, the AIs make immediate peace treaties with each other (in a replay of a 10 player game, it was divided into three groups of AI with me being the odd man out), even if relations are 0% amongst each other. In fact, I have noticed that ALL of the missions they have given me involved attacking their allies...

The Seeker Vessel has a passive ability that allows you to see the gravity well it died in for a period of time, as well as the ability to Martyr itself on a hostile target (in layman's terms, smash itself into an enemy ship). I don't think either qualifies as a spying attack. The Revelation Battlecruiser, however, has a ability called Clairvoyance which allows temporary viewing of any known gravity well, explored or unexplored (unexplored meaning you know it exists, but haven't been

I believe Aerolian, with maximum players, has two systems each with five players. So unless one AI had already researched Long Range Jumps within 12 minutes and sent a fleet over, you're describing a situation with one too many hostile factions. If you consider the first few levels of Fleet Logistics, it costs 1200 credits and 75 crystal to create a second capital ship crew and 400 credits and 25 crystal and 9% of your income rate to increase fleet capacity from 100 to 250. The cost o

For me, they eventually purchased my resources after I lowered my offer price to 90% of the instant buy price. I'm guessing they only buy when they need additional resources... possibly after a costly skirmish or when they severely lack one resource. I've seen bots get 4 Volcanic planets within 2 jumps of their HW, but no Ice for 4 jumps.

Quota for neutral extractors is four, versus the three constructed refineries can support. Refineries are optimal at locations with lots of phase lanes to nearby planets/neutrals, which are easier to find in larger maps.

This remainds me a ton of a Halo mod for Freelancer... they have great models over there, though the developers won't allow their models to be reused in any other mod projects, aside from those established in all three Halo games (Halcyon Cruiser, Marathon Cruiser, Apocalypse Frigate, Covenant Assault Carrier, CCS Battlecruiser, etc.) The Covie Dreadnought had a beam which traveled at light speed, at long range, and could bisect five UNSC ships in one blast (from The Fall of Reach). Similarly, strike craft without a host carrier are useless... they just die off slowly if you kill the host. Interference also works on carriers, since they require antimatter to rebuild strike craft... Fighters cost 13 AM and bombers 25 AM... so doubling the cost would hit carriers hard given their relatively slow antimatter regeneration rate (except in the gravity wells of stars and TEC carriers in their own culture). Focusing your Assailant's missiles on the carriers or units near

Flak frigates are more anti-fighter platforms than anti-bomber. Interference doubles antimatter cost and cooldown time of abilities, so if they still have antimatter when they are interfered, they can cast... it just lengthens the time required to cast again. If the Kortul you have also has Disruptive Strikes, try sending it after the support ships, since the penalties incurred by that buff stack on top of itself and Interference (I've seen cooldown penalties of 190% with one Kortul and Inter

You need to research wormhole travel, just like how you need to research interstellar jumps before you can jump from one system to another. The research topic has an image of a wormhole with a white arrow going through it, Vasari has it at Tier 4, TEC and Advent have it at Tier 5 of the Empire/Civilian/Harmony Trees respectively.
Doesnt Advent also get a 10% shield mitigation bonus in their own culture in addition to a higher researchable mitigation level? Isnt that a bit overpowering to have all three? I think the Kostura should get the +15% damage bonus thing.
The 10% extra is actually 6% from culture and 4% from research. The first 2% from culture are Tier 2, the next 2% are Tier 4, and the last 2% are Tier 6 (all of which are prerequisite for

Cobalts are resistant to bomber weaponry, not so much fighter weaponry. If you're lucky enough to get a Dunov to survive long enough, magnetizing a few of their ships is possible.
