I also agree with Noctilucus as well. I want us to go to war at some point (it's fun), but we shouldn't pick on the Thalans or any really strong race unless we're not alone in the fight.

Fellow councilors, I am very pleased with our progress so far, especially the military build-up. It will help in negotiations and keep other races from threatening us as much. For research I think the most important objective is Advanced Hulls . We cannot allow the Thalans to beat us to XHP. We shouldn't disband, but there is no need for us to take any action right now. We should just vote for what we (individually) feel is best for now. As you guys said, the Coalition will be needed if someone gets all whack-job pro-military and tries to pass crazy proposals, and once our military is ready. We'll just bide our time.

I only wish to speak on two topics; the detaining of the scientist and planetary names. The detainment of the scientist is a controversial topic at this point. It will be looked upon negatively by other civilizations, but the benefits and the fact that it was not cruel make it acceptable to me. If DS17 is to become our Research Capital, I think this was a good decision. However, unless the benefits are too good to pass up, we should try to make good or neutral decisions in the future.

Your Highness, general assembly, I would like to propose researching Stellar Cartography in the near future. It would help us avoid wasting time exploring empty systems and would only take 2 weeks to complete.
