People hate her because she's more conservative than the people who lost the republican primaries, who lost because they were so conservative. Therefore, if she because VP and McCain dies, we'll get the republican version of Kucinich as POTUS.
John McCain has obsolutely no power over this except to vote yes or no when it hits the Senate floor. If it makes it that far, it's already going to be passed. Therefore, him dropping everything to fix the crisis seems like a poltiical stunt. How's he going to fix it? He's not on the right committees or sub committees.
