I was calling people who blindly buy something because other people like it, names. People who like what everyone else likes simply because everyone else likes it. Those people are sheeple.
My philosophy Won't help someone chose a game if they're looking to "get their money's worth" but it will help them buy the games that are about the things they like. Just as your example given about "Africa and the Endless Ocean". Many people wouldn't like games like those. If you go into it knowing you like the subject content though does it really matter? Someone who likes massive action and explosions isn't going to like those

Be your own person even if that means you're the only person in the world playing a particular game. As long as you like it and it makes you happy, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Don't be a clone.
How exactly does your philosophy actually help someone choose a game? The reason people read revi

I mean some of my favorite series are lucky if they get 7 because these so called professional reviewers penalize the series for the very thing that fans of the series enjoy, aka maybe gameplay is slow laid back for example. There was on reviewer who thought it was appropriate to go after Afrika and the Endless Ocean series as

A bunch of guys who think they should have been able to screw freshmen girls while they were serniors in high school... shocking. I hope you all have daughters. Being able to sue somebody is a right for every american. Getting a lawyer to take the case, to win the case, and get enough to cover your expenses is the questionable part. You are confusing legality with settlement... not the same. These corporations might settle for small amounts even when the law is on their side beca

In regards to MMO's being a pay-for-play model and that they are not well supported, I almost agree. The one way that I sever my agreement is that they are better supported than any other games out there. Excepting only those games that have allowed community-based support (I can't say anything bad about such standards except for they have horrible tax consequences to the
There will be "Cloud Saves" , Nesrie. At least if you're talking about being able to save your game progress. Most people don't have the time to sit down and play through a whole game all at once. As such players will have to save their progress. I know OnLive will have lots of games at launch that require you to "Save your game" in Mid play. People still need to eat, sleep, and go to work and school. [/quot
...The idea that pirates would have to pay for these facilities makes me happy... You're entering dangerous territory here. Using 'Cloud' gaming as a method of DRM, and believe me it's being discussed somewhere, forces players to pay a subscription fee for their games - and if its DRM that means its mandatory - there will be no boxed version, otherwise us filthly pirates would be able to pirate it. This isn't just t

The current industry model does not support servicing a game past the burst purchasing phase after release. A model that is on a pay per play or pay per period system does. Such a system would also increase profit motivations for brand loyalty and companies like GPG would be scrambling to fix DG just to save face. Otherwise, players that w

Cities Xl yanked their servers and already pulled their forums. They had so many complaints and feedback they didn't want to listen to that they shut down the forums before the launch. Anyway, you could try Simtropolis. There are supporters found there and even some info about what MC is doing these days, now that they shutdown a game a lot of the beta testers flat out told them wouldn't float.
I agree. It's a terrible idea because not just because it screws legitimate customers but also because it turns the publisher into a 24/7 service provider without the benefit of a monthly subscription.
Anyway, as you failed to realise, this is the same for any rating system anywhere in the world; showing rated material to someone under the age of the rating is of course illegal, hence the rating system in the first place.
Yeah, this isn't true in the USA, as has been pointed out already. Our ratings systems are not backed by the power of the government. They're just private organizations that stepped into the role fairly well which allows us to avoid
