Is their an up to date Galaxy forge with the Sins Plus planets in it? Or any version for that matter? I was just using the deadly forge but I lost the one on my desktop and the link for it is dead...

If you're not rushing, defidently don't scrap your cap factory. Do the basic capture the nearby asteroids, develop them, and then get the three military labs and two civic labs (if their are enough nearby planets to make it worth while). The size of the map should decide weither you rush or build civic labs first. I personally only rush when their is less than thre jumps to the nearest enemy homeworld, and if that is the case you will probably not build civic for most of the game (unless you

Their was a mod that had every planet in the solar system, with the texturing from NASA photos. You could probably just take the texture on that and use it as a third one. Also a lot of mods have more specialized terran planets like forest or what not, but their textures could probably be used as well if you really just wanted a lot of variation in the terran planets. Also I believe all of the planets have just two textures...

Epic fail. I expect Blizzards offices to be the targets of riots in Korea now, especially as I predict its single player will not live up to more modern RTS games.

Not to insult the great Sun Tzu, but if the goal of the op is to educate other players on strategy, I think actually playing the game would be much more helpful (you could probably finish the book or a small map in the time it takes to read and understand that whole post). No strategy game I have ever played is so realistic that it pays to read up on real world strategy. If the goal is to show that sins has some real world elements of war in it, then it is sucsessful.

^Yup, and Jason is aware the strikecraft are still Rebel. It will be fixed in 2.4. As for Diplominator, a couple of people have suggested the Bothan Assault Cruiser, though no one have the faintest idea where to find a model. However, the mod is supposed to be set in the Galactic Civil War, which as Rnick says, eliminates them, though I would be willing to swallow the BAC just to get a Bothan ship in their.

Download the forge tools and their is documentation of how to do this. But basically take the sins reference data (also in forge tools) and paste your model in the model folder, and create a new ship entity that references it.

The Sins of a Galatic Empire mod had plans to include them, though I don't know if they are still planning on it. 7DS got the empire from that mod anyways...

Just wondering if their are any mods out their that feature new skyboxes, as it is something that I have yet to see in any mod I have played, and it is probably my favorite graphics feature.

We could have the a nice load defcon style warning siren each time one fires... [e digicons]}:)[/e] Though that might bee slightly out of place in space, so perhaps its better we nerf it agian? Or perhaps it can get its own icon?

For entrenchment: Just do an easy game or a game with no AI and just have pirates on and let them be your starbases target practice (lvl 3 military research required). Upgrading them is expensive, but watching them destroy a pirate fleet in seconds is worth it. Be warned of new anti structure ships though, and bombers still do a good job against them, as do high level mothership + guardians + lots of Illums (though big red button could destroy most of them).

A. Pirate bases are not required. If you have no pirate bases in any solar system, the pirates just start out dead (like you had them turned off). Free Advice: This may have been fixed, but if you have all the pirate bases in systems without players starting in them, you might end up having the pirate raids get stuck at the pirate bases, giving them 100s of ships at their base instead of the usual defense force. B. I always thought it was the player slot, not the team,

Well the plasma research is probably the best for DPS in the game, they are mainly not used because you can use Illums for mostly the same roles. Late game I usually have a few mixed in for good measure, but not more than that because their ability appearently doesn't stack... [e digicons]:([/e]

However, if wormhole A that goes to wormhole B, wormhole B doesn't have to go to wormhole A, it can go to wormhole C, but your ships will have no way to return to wormhole A. Unless of course if you make a wormhole ring of sorts, which would make for another interesting map. Each player gets his own system with a wormhole linking to all the others in a circular pattern, so 1 -> 2 -> 3 -
Ack, not the eaw starbase! XQ=Better.
XQ is certainly more lore based, but it doesn't compare very well with sins starbases. They are smaller than Capitalships and more suited for the hangar defense structure. Unfortunately, EAW's station is the only alternitive, and I'd honestly rather see it that an extra large XQ platform. The Empire's golan is fine though.

A couple minutes ago (1:25 Central) Tried to load the sins modding forum I was logged in I clicked the link on the main forum and refreshed, same result Using 64bit Vista with Firefox 3.0.11 When trying to go to the mod forum or most other pages, it takes forever and then it only loads the stickies and leaves the thread list completely blank. 1. Sins of a Solar Empire (+Entrenchment) 2. Rome: Total War 3. Supreme Commander 4. Rise of Nations (+Expansion) 5. Battlestations Midway (Semi RTS, haven't played Pacific yet...) Edit: O yeah I like Generals too, I guess its tied with Midway.

Good in theory, but I think this would have had to have been introduced in the concept stage of the game so that all races weapon types could have been spread out more. And phase missiles would kind of kill this as some players might want to ignore phase missile mitigation once their opponents have researched max bypass research.
