Still though, there is no incentive to fire on it in the first place...
There is - Weapon Jam makes all strike craft obsolete in the area and DS makes caps obsolete. If you want to use any cap ship ability or strike craft, you will want to kill the Kortul. Still, you're somewhat right. The majority of fleets are HC/LRF spams, which don't really care about this ship. Moreover, with VN being non-channeled, there is no really good way to stop it from happening (not that it doe

I've been saying that it sucked for over a year, nobody listened to me. I didn't think of it as a bug, more like an underpowered ability, but conclusion from both is the same.
Answer me that.
Simple, I misunderstood. You mixed your +350% idea with a theory that Kortul does hell knows what kind of damage with its guns. I thought you wanted to make me believe that PS is good. Guess I was sleepy. 7000 damage over 30 seconds. Let's think. Slightly OP. But I like it. I still hate those sidebeams leeching on Kortul's firepower. I like it how they look (pulse beams

Honestly, I think the OP is interesting and all, but discussion itself is pointless. Unless one of you is going to invent a Sins of a Solar Empire Role Playing System like D&D, Warhammer or whatever, discussing logical explanations of purely imaginative phenomena is illogical by itself.
Well, still, you deal 8000 damage to JUST the forward target over that time... And for the record, Kortuls (unless I am drastically mistaken), deal 138 with full upgrades as opposed to what you said. Each time, the DPS goes up by 10%. Try it yourself, it ends at around 115 normally and then you get a DPS boost from upgrades.
Sorry, I looked at it from left to right and it is not 10% each time and it won't go to 138 dps. Unless something changes on all 'fast'. I'm playing
The point is, this ability would turn the Kortul into the battleship it ought to be. Once you flip on PS, you can assume that the enemy will not want to be around. At level 10, you are dealing about 140 DPS by default , so with PS, you are dishing out 630 DPS. That is a buff that increases DPS by 490 DPS for 30 seconds. now, 60% of that is going forward, so... 294 DPS for 30 sec which totals to more than 8000. I'll say that this is certainly poweful, so you may want to
Power Surge: Change Weapon cooldown bonus from -25/-50/-75 to -30/-60/-90, change Shield recharge bonus from 75/150/225 to 90/180/270. (Increase damage and survivability later on.)
This is still merely a Disruptive Strikes buff. Additional 12 dps over three targets won't change anything, neither will additional 4 shields per second (in the best scenario possible). That's about as much as your changes would do. I'd rather suggest : - weapon cooldow
It increases it by about 80
I ran a test. The kortul at level 8 does 78 DPS alone, without upgrades (whoever makes Beam upgrades anyway? That's 80% of this guy's dps). Triggering Power Surge increases it by 75%. Now, Mathematical blasphemy allows me to extrapolate that damage onto level 10, basing on damage increments throughout previous levels, and state that it should be about 85 DPS at lvl 10. That's without weapons upgrades, but it doesn
Leave power surge alone. at level 1/2/3 this ship does 33%/100%/300% more damage.
God, Amish, please don't write such bullshit. You sound like an utter noob. Green 75% weapon cooldown does NOT mean that the weapon cooldown is reduced by 75%, meaning 4 times the number of shots fired. It means that the weapon cooldown is multiplied by 1/(1+0.75) and this basically means the DPS is multiplied by 175%. Level 3 Power Surge increases the Kortul's DPS by 75% flat, n
neither race has refineries at tier 2 and only TEC has trade ports at tier 2. IMO the fact that vasari get access to refineries (tier 3) before trade ports (tier 4) absolutely fits into the picture that the vasari are a resource-focused race whereas TEC is clearly credit-focused (trade ports at tier 2, refinieries at tier 4) and the advent is clearly culture-focused. And that is exactly what you want in an RTS: different races with truely different focuses and asp
Refineries don't suck when used appropriately. I totally agree that trade and culture should go up first, but once they are up, IF a game looks like it won't be over in the first hour, AND I have a good spot where a refinery can get 10+ extractors, AND I need metal and crystal, then I absolutely build refineries. If I have a sweet spot with 15+ extractors in the area of effect, I might actually rush to get 2-3 refineries built.
And that's basically why refinery may not be totall

Watch out for that Gauss gun. Please. 2000 damage? That's more than Vulk's disintegration does. Hold your horses before you make a one shot ship killer. With 2000 damage the gauss gun will two-shot every structure in the game except those with shields. It will one shot frigates (remember, mitigation is not always at 65%, it starts from 15% - if Gauss was used on a frig without bumped mitigation, it would one shot it). If that thing is going to be a spammable massacre weapon mounted
If you nerf the Illumiantors then you would be removing one of the core reasons for playing Advent.
Some people just don't like playing as maniacal girls who share their mental issues with neighbours instead of sugar. I, for one, prefer maniacal aliens who share terror and take their neighbours into slavery. Even though they relatively suck right nao, if not for the EGG.
pretty nice changes. I'd also have liked the high dmg, high cd grg, but it might be too powerful. I also though: should the antorak get immunity from the starbases jump destebalisation? it would accentuate its role as a fast strike and return vessel and unless it takes support craft with it (which would not benefit from this anyway), I don't think it would be too overpowered, it's not like this thing is a dmg dealer nightmare. still, the combination of relatively easy bypass
Maybe one ability worth considering that you haven't yet is the Kol's Gauss Cannon. The ability is somewhat lackluster compared to other direct damage abilities, and its only redeeming feature is that low cooldown. It basically requires flux field to be of any use whatsoever.
I haven't really checked this ability inside out, but before buffing it into nano-disassembler levels one has to take into consideration that this ability is located on the most immovable brick in the

The Thang: I am 80% sure that the Orkulus can use Debris Vortex to heal from debris that comes from cancelled structures . I tried to test it but it is quite hard to replicate such a situation, where you have an area with no real debris, full of cancelled structure debris and a damaged orky nearby that can use it to heal itself. I think I managed to make this 'bug' work, but I am not fully certain tha
Also, I think Debris Vortex is bugged!? I've never seen it do anything! No repair, no nothing. What does it do?
Debris Vortx is awesome. 1] you need debris. Debris is left by blown up ships or structures, both friend and foe. 2] when you click debris vortex, this scrap metal is being slowly sucked into the middle break of the Orkulus. Once it hits that spot, it instantly heals the Orkulus by some serious HPs. If you blow, say 20 frigates and then use debr

I don't mind any of your ideas. But mark my words - Sins will sooner see chuck norris roundhouse kicking fleets as a superweapon than any of the cool ideas that pop up around the forums - Starships, your weapons of mass destro, etc. Devs have to fix their game first, then do what they planned on. I seriously doubt there is any positive chance of these ideas making it into the game. Sorry ;s
