Chuck Norris has finished the Soase single player campaign. (not sure if it was mentioned or not. Chuck knows) Chuck Norris' micro is so badass that he can heal his dogfighting fighters with Overseers.
I would caution against making the lowering the tier of the vasari research as this might allow them to steamroll anything (particularly the advent) in the early game, and leave them with nothing in the late game.
Well, lowering the research tier of wave cannon upgrades would only reduce their cost and time required for upgrade, which are both unexplainably high. You still need 5 military labs to make their main users, the Enforcers, right? So there's no
You're correct, 10 Orgov's deals tons more damage than 1 Orkulus. Its just too bad Vasari cant build Orgovs. Dude, can you read? I clearly said: "Vasari anti-starbase strategy". So, it's not about DPS output comparisons is it? The point was, Orkulus is the anit-starbase unit for Vasari and it costs waaay cheaper than 10 Orgov's.
And my point was - Orkulus is not a starbase killer. Using it in this role takes YEARS of building and upgrading and shoot

A typical game looks like this for Chuck Norris: Chuck Norris enters the game. Chuck Norris murders everyone. Chuck Norris murders everything. Chuck Norris murders everything else. Chuck Norris' PC finishes loading the game.
N3Rull, who are you online? I think you've probably already told me at one point, but I forget.
I never play online these days. I don't have the time to spend on a game that may last 3-4 hours. Work work work. I used to play on my friends' acc some time ago when I visited him for weekends, but now I rarely do. We played some lan games as well. I don't have much time to visit him anymore, either.
I don't know how reasonable it is to as
N3rull, you are forgetting to take into account that the very presence of the Orky is enough to convince the enemy to keep their distance. That is NOT a waste of money. The Orky is like a nuke. You may never use it, but its sheer presence is enough to keep the enemy away. That is useful. That is worthwhile. The Orky is a deterrent. Like nukes in the cold war.
The nukes were a deterrent that convinced US and Russia not blow blow each apart (and the whole world while they were at

The only use of Vasari mines I had found is to: - build 3 weapons labs (2 at start, third as you scuttle the cap factory). - rush research ruiner - use the cap to engage rebel ships around heavily defended planets (desert/terran) - jump a ruiner, lay two minefields, jump out - drag the rebels into the minefield with your cap. Quick XP and Terran/Desert clearing to be able to build something there. ... ... Of course, this "trick" is
The weapon issue just becomes more relavent now as the vassari struggle more then they used to - quick start is a big cause of this too...
Well, the weapons issue won't buff the Vasari, as I mentioned. Dropping the wave tech by a few tiers may, but whatever happens with pulse beams and cannons won't help Vasari too much. All I want here is a sensible weapons tech tree. Advent has it sensible, as does TEC. Vasari have one imba upgrade line, one sickly overpriced and one u
The orky does support fleet by soaking up massive amounts of damage and dealing massive amounts to the enemy. You can put sc on it just like the other sb.You ca put trade AND colony pods on it for income. You say fleets can run away from it and so they cant from the other 2?THEY ARE STATIONARY.You play the only race with a moving sb and you say it sucks cause it isnt faster than a frigate and kill everything before it goes across the well???
You're confusing it again.
amazing how much vasari started sucking all round ever since carriers got nerfed.
Well, they didn't change all that much. It is just that when most players find something that works for them (e.g. carrier spam) then they no longer give a shit how things are messed up in other departments. I had this thread coming for a year. In a few hundred games as Vasari I think I reached full wave upgrades about 3 times, I upgraded pulse cannons about 25 times, I never reac
this was already discussed and iirc it came down to an issue of vasari caps having good firing arcs, so they actually get pretty good dps in most any direction (vs. others caps good in certain directions.) most caps can only put like at most 1/2 their damage in one direction, whereas vasari caps can put like 3/5
Wha? I don't get it. The total DPS in the unit chart means the total DPS done by all banks summed up AFAIK. And
Why not make Colony pods very cheap then?
Could be. Or bump their efficiency by 30-50%.
Also, would a refinery upgrade instead of a tradeport upgrade work? Vasari aren't meant to be traders and this would add to the uniqueness.
Vasari are more of a trader faction than Advent. They do have as many trade upgrades as TEC and unlike Advent, remember? Also, while it sounds nice to replace trade ports with refineries, remember that trade benefits from the length
Meh vasari can just go bombers against enemy starbases just like the other races.
And that is another fail side of the subject. Bomber spam should not be the only way out of a "starbase situation". That it is the only really viable way just makes buffing up other anti-structure methods more important.
I already answered this.If you have trouble with raids send a few ships for support.
If that starbase is 8-mil, you have to use as many ships as the enemy sends because you can't rely on your starbase. Its that slow and doesn't project its strength beyond its weapon range.
Really? So if this is what it takes to seige a highly defended planet with a sb and win its stupid? You have an 8 mil sb of death on the frontlines that the enemy cant counter because

I'll post too. My fix priority would be 3/4 - Not really the first thing that should be done, but it should be done. I know nobody mentioned that too much before, but it's because nobody really cares about the fireworks when all you need is phase missiles. I, however, think that it is plain wrong that two races are done well and the third has -one obsolete weapon type, -one tied to only one ship and insanely high up the tree, -one hardly useful at all and <

I wanted to add this to Deceiver's thread, but it's a little too big of a subject and won't be cured with a little stat fix. So I decided for another thread, cause I think it is deserved. The subject is - Vasari weapons and their upgrade research trees . They problem is - they're messed up . Here's why: Look up the research trees and check what ships profit from different weapon platfo

The only way not to be beaten by Chuck is to play Tic Tac Toe and make four moves before Chuck does one. Even then, you can only hope for a tie.
The Overseer It needs a 360 degree firing arc like the repair bots on the hoshiko. Also, why is this thing tier 4? Advent get guardians at tier 3. TEC get hoshikos at tier 3. Vasari get their first support cruiser at tier 4. That aint fair. I have to spend the money on another lab AND extra money on the tech for a somewhat less effective version of the hoshiko? Bull.
I don't think 360 is necessary, the overseers should require a little attention to balance their stack
N3rull you keep coming up with new scenarios and what if and this can happen.
No I'm not. You said:
Exactly but 7 mil slots is easier to kill then one with 8 mil slots. You can construct a vas sb with 8 mil slots.1 slot makes a big diff on a sb.
And I said (and Grey agreed) that doing so is stupid. Making an 8-mil SB is stupid, when you have no Enf Loyalty, no trade, no colony pods. The starbase floats, yeah, but it's retardedly slow. It
You say that starfish don't do much against a SB(which they dont) but massacre other structures when supported by repair bays and such. Just how often do you have to kill other structures in an enemy well when you have the support of your own repair bays and structures in that same well.
I'm not saying that advent can build starfish to counter an offensive orkulus. They can - simply make them shoot from the other side of their own transcencia, the orky won't be able to
